Ha, ha, ha, I should have thought of that.

Stock Heated Seat Modification
I was inspired by reading troaf76 post back in 2012 . He was showing a step by step, with lots of photographs, how to modified the foam on his heated seat. I have a 2008 GL1800 with comfort, nav, abs, airbag. I am contemplating modifying the seat myself. I want to scoop out about 1” of foam, soften ...

Re: Fuse Panel help needed
Sharp eyes, the extra connector to the battery post is for my heated gears. I think I will undo the wires to the accessory connections and see what stop working, if any. A project for January.
Thank you people. Kenny

Re: Heated jacket liner question?
To OP, you might have bought a Jacket instead of a liner. Here in Canada, I wear my Gerbing heated liner 4 months out of the 7 months of riding season. I use in Warm and Safe remote controller to vary the heat I need. I dial it warmer when we are on the hiway, and less when we are in town. My Gerbin...

Fuse Panel help needed
I have a 2008 GL1800 VIIIA, comfort, nav, abs, airbag. The previous owner had lots of add-ons and big nest of extra wires under the plastic. I plan to clean them up this winter. Attached is my fuse panel, everything looks ok except there are 2 black wires going to the accessory connections. You can ...

Re: Heated Grips on 2008 GL1800
I have a 2008 VIIIA too. The previous owner had to replace the left grip because it wasn’t heating up. Doesn’t sound like that’s your situation. If you are looking for new switches for the grip which includes 4 buttons and seat heat dial, I have an extra set for sale. I bought a new set to solve a d...

Multi Display Buttons Not Working
I posted earlier about the Display and Info buttons on my 2008 Nav, Abs, Airbag stop working. Thanks for the members help, I was able to clean the buttons from underneath and above with Contact Cleaner. The info button worked for a day, then stop again. The display button didn’t resurrect. The rest ...

Re: Buttons & Contact Cleaner
Thanks people, I just read the fine prints on the contact cleaner spray can. It says “safe on most plastic”. Well, I am going ahead and give it a go.

Buttons & Contact Cleaner
The Display and the Info buttons stop working on my 2008 GL1800 Nav, ABS, Airbag. They feel fine push down and up, but do nothing to the screen. I suspected the connectors need cleaning. I know how to remove the instrument cover to get at the connectors, but I never use contact cleaner before. Do I ...

Re: Not sure what these are
Ghostman, ah ha, so they did come in chrome or black. I’ll contact them for installation instructions. From what I read, anyone who had them, raved about them. Anyone who doesn’t have them says they are too much money. But no one said they don’t work.
May be I didn’t know I had a good thing.

Re: Not sure what these are
Good Hondog, thanks for the fast response. Since I posted, I found the Centramatic site and read quite a bit of it. However, I don’t believe the ones I have are centramatic because Centramatic is in chrome finish and these ones are in black anodized finish. They are not spray-painted black. Another ...

Not sure what these are
Took these off the front wheel from a new-to-me 2008 Goldwing. Not sure what they are, suspect it is some kind of self balancer, it sounds like it has sand inside when you shake it. Does anyone know? Re: First time posters, say hello!
Hi, this is actually my second post. My first post was asking for help to figure out some weird connections on an add-on fuse plate. Thank you very much for all the support I received. Well, this is my first Goldwing. It is a 2008 with NAV, COMFORT, ABS, AIRBAG, 16,600km. Never even took it for a te...

I wondered about that. Anyways, I removed the fuse plate completely and will deal with it when the riding season is over.

Re: Confused about this wiring
GoldWngGreg, you are right, I think the 20 and 30 amp fuses are overkill in this application. I am tempted to start all over again and rewire all the add-ons and label them properly. That will be a winter project. I am finding out more add-ons as I spend more time with the bike, eg wire tor an Ipod ...

Re: Confused about this wiring
Thank you for the quick responses. This confirms my suspicion. I will proceed with caution and test all the connections on the add-on fuze panel before making a final switch to positive. Thanks again.

Confused about this wiring
I am new here. I just picked up a new-to-me 2008 GL1800 from the local Harley Davidson dealer. It has Nav, Comfort, ABS, and Airbag. I got a very good deal.I guess someone traded this Goldwing in for a Harley and the HD dealer doesn’t want to keep it in the show room. The bike runs well except for t...
