Farkle Identification

Cleaning out a cupboard and came across some bits I have left from my GL 1500. Does anybody know the name of these wind wings? I don’t think they are available anymore. I’d like to sell them. Any suggestions as to what they may be worth? These attached to the sides of the windshield. I quite liked t...

Re: First ride after rebuild

My first bike was a 1980 Honda CBX. Not exactly what you call a starter bike for sure. I struggled with the handling until........ read on. The previous owner had fitted the CBX with a Vetter fairing and top box exactly the same as what is on your bike. (Kinda like putting saddlebags filled with roc...

Makes me want to go out and get another Goldwing. Have to admit that my favourite bike in the pictures was the CB1100F.

Re: TIME TO GIVE UP THE BIKE

There comes a time for everybody when they have to give up something they enjoy and love. The important thing is to realize it before it's too late. Best wishes for your health situation.

Re: Tire Replacement

So many tires and types but I have looked at two possible Dunlop front tires. Dunlop D404 130/70-18 and Dunlop American Elite 130/70B18 63H Can anyone guide me in knowing if one of these will work? (Providing recommendation says I can mix theses tires) Check the Dunlop website. The only tire they r...

Rat Wing

Recently attended a motorcycle ride in event at a local museum. It was very well attended and I even had an opportunity to test ride a 2019 Goldwing. When I attend car shows my favourites are usually the rat cars. I just like the individual effort and the uniqueness of each build. Same goes for bike...

Re: ATGATT experiment.

I haven’t read all the posts entirely and was pointed to this thread from the newsletter. When I had my Goldwing riding in heat was a big issue for me. I was pointed to the linked article below and it helped me a lot. I was able to get my gear to a point where I was comfortable and still protected. ...

Re: A new method of demounting and remounting tires on rims

Wow ! 60 dollars per tire change, you be gettin ripped off boy! Sure glad I don't live on the east coast. There is a small automotive repair shop here in town that changes my M/C tires for 10 dollars a tire. Used to be 8 dollars, he's getting greedy. ;) You better hope your shop is not reading this...

Re: Best Oil

I can buy full synthetic for around $6/litre when it goes on sale. I use Shell Rotella T6. I have never seen Castrol motorcycle oil go on sale and find it expensive but it is a decent oil.

For rear diff I use a 75W-90 synthetic gear oil from Crappy Tire.

Honda car coolant is fine to use. I see you are in Canada. This will work just fine.

Good catch guys. Your shop, @UncleFester, is not using the correct grease. I think this happens a lot, even in a dealership. Here's a picture from the help section of what the Moly grease looks like.

I loved my 2000 SE. Still wish I had it some days. The new owner stops by my place and teases me occasionally.

If you have a good mechanic it may be easier to take him along, :D :D . Gas is getting too expensive in BC anyway.

Re: AZ to Sturgis?

Go for it. If the bikes in good shape there is no reason it won’t make it. If you are worried about heat I would suggest getting a cooling vest and a vented jacket. A MasterCard will take care of just about any problem. Enjoy the Sturgis shenanigans. Love the area but definitely avoid it during bike...

Re: USB thumb drive music

When I had my Goldwing 1500 I had one of these wired up in the right side cubby hole. I never took it out just switched the SD cards now and then but it would also play a thumb drive or you can plug a phone or iPod into it. I never used the remote as it wouldn't transmit to the modulator when it was...

Re: Goodbye Fellow Wingers

UPDATE. I wasn't really looking that hard but just kept my eyes and ears open to any reasonably priced good bikes that crossed my path. Last week I closed a deal on a different sort of tourer. Figured it was still a good enough bike for the wife and I to get out on and more friendly to solo riding f...

Re: Tire changer that WORKS!

Not me, I usually take a grinder or cutting tool and cut around the rim removing the rims lip, then I slip the tire off with out any fuss  place the new one in and JB weld it closed...works good.... I must have been watching your YouTube videos because that's exactly how I do it.

Re: GL1500 Heated Seat

I think this can easily be done but the best idea would be to actually by a seat heater kit. You can get them for a motorcycle here: https://www.heatedseatkits.com/heatedseatkits/motorcycleseatheater/index.html This link apparently is no more and is not private. I wouldn’t use it. Good advice but t...
