Decided to replace front speakers

What have you found to be the best price on speakers that will drop right in other than Honda. My new stereo has 75w on four channels. If I'm going to have to open up the fairing and wire the speakers directly, I might as well install new speakers.

Suggestions?

Front speakers not working.

I'm presently installing a marine stereo in my 89 wing. Power is hooked up and I have triple checked the colored wire diagram to make sure I'm attaching the wires to the correct wires in the harness. Just to check, I powered it up and no sound is coming from the front speakers. Does the mute button ...

What color wires go to front and rear speakers respectively

I'm installing a different stereo system and I believe I've identified the positive and negative wires for the front. But what are the colors for the positive and negative wires for the rear speakers in my 89 1500?

Help! My wife wants her side of the garage back.

28 mpg to 38 mpg

I replaced the timing belts in Old Ugly and new coils. My first tank all around driving has gone from 28 to 38 and those sux cylinders hum a fine tune.
First time I took it out afterwards I was smiling the biggest smile. Old Ugly was finally running and sounding like a good Wing should.

Re: First time posters, say hello!

Since getting my 89 GL1500, which I lovingly named "Old Ugly" I have done complete oil change, plugs, new front wheel bearing, Tow Pac trike kit (don't judge me), drive train oil replacement, and now a timing belt and coils. The timing belt and coils have made it run like a new machine. I was averag...

Re: Time for a 3D printer?

I'm thinking of replacing the old tired radio for a more modern bluetooth amfm stereo and have been looking for a mount. I thought about trying to make my own but with 3d printers getting so common, I figured another Wing owner might have already created a file. This is for a 1989 GL1500

Guess what...I just made a replacement for mine...Ya want the model file.?
A pain to print it in ABS plastic due to inherent shrinking but I resolved that too.
What year Wing did it work for? Do you still happen to have the model file?

Re: Feel like an idiot. Only running on 4 cylinders

Branson traffic isn't bad when you learn the back roads. I have to ride 45 miles to the Honda shop in Springfield.
Traffic goes quiet in January and February. It's a great place to retire to.

Feel like an idiot. Only running on 4 cylinders

My wing never had the power at higher speeds that I expected. While replacing my timing belt, my mechanic told me that I'm only running on 4 cylinders. The wing is so quiet that I really couldn't tell. Now the coil is also being replaced. Bet that was the reason for the lousy gas mileage.

After my morning ride to work...

I'm fully convinced that if someone would invent an ear shattering horn for motorcycles that screamed, "HANG UP YOUR PHONE AND DRIVE!" that bikers would make the person a millionaire in a week.

My fuel guage is a liar.

This morning I filled up with 2.7 gallons and the guage read 1/3 of a tank. I nearly screamed, "LIAR! YOU HOLD OVER SIX GALLONS!"

I restrained myself.

Are your guages liars, too?

Has a new timing belt improved your gas mileage.

it's time to replace the timing belt in my 89 Wing. I get about 24 mpg average and wondered if replacing the timing belt is going to improve my mileage at all.
What is your experience?

Aftermarket adapter for 1989 GL1500 stereo

I'm really wanting to mount a newer stereo system in "Old Ugly." But for the life of me, I cannot find an adapter that will look good sitting there. Is there a company that makes an adapter that I can use to mount a marine Bluetooth stereo on the bike?

If you guys don't know, I bet no one knows.

I did it. I followed every step.

I wish I could say it went smoothly, but I finally got it finished.

Does the LCD display work if radio is gone?

I'm going to replace my nonfunctional stock radio with something newer. The LCD is shot (typical).
If I replace thr LCD and do not have the stock radio, will that make the LCD not function?

If your Panasonic factory radio does not work it is because those connectors are not plugged into it.
They are the radio plugs and radio is a no go. Thanks for your help. At least they're not dangling leaving me wonder.
Great. Plugged them back in and now reverse doesn't want to work.

Re: Need a new lock for right fairing pocket

Actually the lock can be taken apart, I have done it numerous times on the locks on motor scooters. You just have to take a small screwdriver that is bent slightly and possibly an unbent one and go around the crimped cover to take it apart, rekey it (actually the hard part unless you have a supply ...

Before I go mad and start taking things apart searching through mt 1989 Wing (Old Ugly), could you help a guy out. They're on the left side of the fairing.
