Re: For Sale 2006 Kompact Kamp Mini Mate

It might be helpful to mention a price. Ron in AZ Best offer... Not a great answer. A price range or a starting point for price would probably be a better answer. Sorry to disappoint you. I could ask $ all day long. But guarantee I would get offers half what $ I ask. I'm simply saying if your inter...

For Sale 2006 Kompact Kamp Mini Mate

2006 model, they haven't made any changes in decades. I installed the riser blocks on the axle so the ride height is matched better to my vehicles and it also makes using the stabilizers much easier. I replaced the pull bar with a longer one to track better behind my vehicles, especially the motorcy...

Re: *WANTED* GL1500 Fairing cover

Whatever search engine you use, all the returns I see are for universal tank bras or things that are not made anymore. I think the 1500 is past it's expiration date for a lot of aftermarket items. At this point your best bet is to check all the forums for someone that didn't like it, took it off an...

DenverWinger wrote: Fri Jul 02, 2021 5:21 pm I just measured my TravLite Camper.

It is 42" outside of wheel to outside of wheel. Tongue length is 75" axle-to-hitch. It travels straight and true behind the bike... :)
That sounds like it sticks to the formula better.

Re: Mini mate wanted

I recommend if you find one don't walk, run quickly to see it and bring cash in hand along with a tow vehicle. They are very simple so canvas material and fiberglass tub is really all you need to be solid. Everything else you can replace and your paying price should reflect that. But for the time it...

Re: Trailer tongue length?

Most of the rules for trailer building are derived from the tow vehicle and assume 4 or more wheels. So that doesn't really work for bikes. What does work is that you need to have the right tongue weight, 10% to 15% of gross weight. While a longer tongue is more stable, it also lowers tongue weight...

Re: Trailer tongue length?

From this forum I've learned that the length of the arm of a trailer must be at least 1.5x the length of the axle of the trailer. What I don't know, however, is if that is from the attachment point on the motorcycle to the front of the trailer or total length, which obviously goes underneath and fu...

Re: Reverse issues

I suffer to from reverse issues. My cause is the previous owner didn't understand the procedure and now my handle doesn't lock into the engaged position. So until I get time to fix I have to hold it engaged with the left hand while pressing and steering with the right. Honestly last thing on my list...

Re: 1983 GL1100 For Sale

My first touring bike was a 1985 interstate and it’s been a passion ever since. Parts, paint, and support from a great forum like this can help anyone restore a Goldwing. And we all put more into our bikes than what can be seen as a reasonable investment. When I purchased my ‘85 20 years ago I paid ...

Trailer tongue length?

So I own a kompact kamp mini mate. The factory tongue measures 52.5” and almost half of that is mounted under the trailer itself. I have tried rearranging my load weight front to back, back to front, side to side, and centered and still get the “dog tail wagging” effect starting at 60 mph. I picked ...

Re: Need Some Camping Toilet Advice

We picked up the pop-up privacy tent and reliance 5 gallon bucket with toilet seat lid for emergencies only. Then it’s loaded it up inside with toiletries like wipes, toilet paper, and bags. They make a powder that absorbs the liquid but haven’t had experience with them yet. Heard about those cat bo...

This set-up looks pretty cool. I like how organized the tent is.
