Re: GPS on a budget? Yes.
I will never buy a gps with lifetime lies ever again. I had a tom tom, and less than a year... it needed an update. I updated it and then when I went to upload a new map a year later... it said my device was not compatible with the new map... I was supposed to buy a new device to use the new map... ...

Re: The Flippy uppy trunk method.
Still not clear. At one point I wanted to grind my bolt down too. But the core of my question... do you have to remove the bolt that is accessed from inside the saddle bag... Do you have to remove it from the threaded portion or can you leave it threaded, but loose and the "trunk" will fli...

Re: First time posters, say hello!
So this isn't my first post. That was 3 years ago. I finally bought a wing in july. It's a 2000 white one cuz I wanted to be like wingadmin. I have a helix and a harley too. Plus a couple of honda passports. The wing is frustrating to work on.. I will never complain about working on the helix again ...

The Flippy uppy trunk method.
tldr The two bolts that you access through the saddlebags. Do you just loosen them? And then the trunk will flip up? or do you have to remove/then reinstall to and from the threaded portion. detail if needed. I just had to change my tires. I did the flippity uppity method, rather than take off the ...

Re: No gauges and won't start
As far as your head light... Stick your thumb under your starter button and pull back... These switches get gummed up and you might just get your light back if ya do that.

Re: Tire for GL1500 in 2023
The older I get, the less I take "short cuts". They just take too long, and are too aggravating. Very true!!! but taking apart 23yo plastics is fraught with peril. I was at the point where I thought about taking it apart, to get it "back together". As I was trying to unscew the ...

Re: Tire for GL1500 in 2023
Yeh, I finally got it... with my buddy "jiggling" the trunk and frame and stuff. I got replied to by Delboys Garage on YT and he said when he does that "flip up" method you do not take the bolts all the way out. Only out of the threaded portion and then lift. The whole process is...

Re: Tire for GL1500 in 2023
Having hear no real good news I ordered Dunlap 4's from cyclegear. Now I can't get my bike back together. I did the "flip up the trunk" method. It seems find but... I can not get the 2 bolts inside the saddlebags back in the holes. (the hole in the crash bar and the side of the frame?) I c...

Re: Let's order DARKSIDE TIRES
3 Maybe's. Is there any details as to when they would arrive after order. Is there anyone in Phoenix's interested.. we could have them all shipped to one house here and then redistribute instead of paying shipping to different phoenix addresses from IL. My ask is because I literally ordered the elit...

Tire for GL1500 in 2023
Hello Team, Thank you for checking this out. I have a new to me 2000 gl1500 and I need a rear tire. I have read the forums and Is it true the austone in no longer made? The dunlop E3 no longer made. The local tire shop only has a shinko for 200 ish bucks. If you could just point me to a tire (darksi...

Re: Turn Signals Switches Clean-Up
I know this is an old thread. I am a new goldwing owner and a tad ignorant. Why not just use Deoxite on the switches and not disassemble?

Re: 1986 Goldwing 1200 stalls after driving on highway for a bit
I second the gas cap vent... next time it dies... Open the gas cap, bet she starts right up. I too suffered with an unvented cap and diagnosing took wizards and warlocks. Now it is one of the first things I have checked. Happened on my Harley and my honda so brands don't matter. Good luck. Try simpl...

Re: Used Prices on GL 1500s in the toilet
I sold my beautiful 95 Aspencade with 60000 miles for the lowly price of 3000 5 months ago . I paid 4000 for it when I bought it in 2017 . I think your post can illustrate another point. This is valuable thread BTW, and underead. In Arizonawest case... You owned the bike for about 3 years. You sold...

Re: Used Prices on GL 1500s in the toilet
I am of the philosophy now (believe have lost a lot of money coming to this) If you are gonna take a loss, take it early. I had a 64 c200 (old honda pushrod) and went round and round with people. A NICE person showed up and we talked for 2 hours. He took it home for way less than I wanted him to, bu...
