yep. pilot jets still clogged, vents not venting, or floats too low. assuming you removed the float valve seats and cleaned those tiny screens.

if it only runs on choke, you need to disassemble, clean, make sure of float level, install, sync. forget about how it is supposed to work and focus on making sure it is in same condition as when delivered to dealer from honda.

Re: Use of K&N air filter in Goldwings
k & n only filters decently when it is dirty, which sukks for flow. k&n only flows decently when it is clean, which sukks for filtering. but the passage of oil onto sensors works well to empty your wallet. flow restrictions in most modern engines are not at the air filter. who would spend $$...

Re: Rear Shocks and front forks
shorter spring is a stiffer spring. think damping at the bottom of the stroke. race tech springs have better damping rates for more aggresive riders. if staying with stock marshmellow ride, stay with stock springs and refresh with new oem. the rest gets into welding and redrilling damper rods, oil v...

Re: Air shock cylinder scratches - is it done for?
i have refurbed many hyrdraulic cylinders by polishing lightly with emery cloth wrapped around the shaft and while pulling back and forth, allow it to move slowly up and down the shaft.vise the cylinder so the opening is pointed down, or tape off the cylinder opening to avoid abrasives from getting ...

Re: 1999 1500 with sidecar
If it has an electric trim control, that helps a lot for dealing with road crown and such. Much less tiring than having to counter that all the time. yes, last car i mounted, i put a linear actuator on the outside wheel. could fine tune for the crown, or drainage grade, or camber. helped a lot. as ...

drive it in very rural area for a few hours. never exceed 50 mph and see how bad you hurt the next day. aftermarket rake kits are usually a band aid to keep it from headshaking. you wont have to check for headshake, you will feel it. at what speed does it shake, at what speed does it smooth out? ask...

Re: changing from floorboards to pegs
one of the very first things i did after riding my gl1200 home after purchase. i found guy who had a limited, and had stock pegs. i traded my boards for his pegs. the only parts i needed were the pegs. the boards looked like markland stuff that was common back in the day, it had a u shaped thingy th...

Re: New owner, 'tap' in driveline...
sounds like you may be having a wheel bearing issue. noise can transmit to another area, giving false diagnostics. for S & G;s while on center stand, see if you can grab rear tire at 12 and 6 oclock and rock it. put some muscle into it, see if it rocks at all. also, place bike in gear and rotate...

Re: Take off problems
if you hear a sucking sound that is distinct, i would cut to the chase and identify, correct, and ride! look for the vac leak. double check the vacuum hoses from the manifolds and ALL orings.
maybe someone else can offer info more specific to that exact model.

Re: Take off problems
partially engage choke. if that helps, then tear carbs back down.also look for vacuum leak. if choke doesnt help then i would look at point gap or timing. checked cam timing to make sure not a tooth off?
