Re: 83 goldwing gl1100a aspencade

Go to this site and download the gl1100 1980/1983 repair manual. The only manual I've seen that includes the 1983 Aspy diagrams. The wire you are looking for is yellow/white from the sending unit.

I just have to ask. How did following the manual cause that bolt to back out?

Re: Title transfer. What would you do.

Funny thing is this bike is going to be picked up here and shipped to Poland. The guy that bought it is in Poland. This is my 2004 Rune. He has been a member on the Runeriders site for a long time. No scam it will be a cash sale. Already checked him out. Legitimate.

Title transfer. What would you do.

If you sold a bike and the purchaser wanted you to just sign the title and hand it over without a even a date. Would you do it? Would a signed bill of sale absolve any libality.

Re: Here we go again!! Something else as always!

Absolutely no need to remove the windings. Nothing in there. Caution, be very careful with the power in post. You can easily break the connection inside.

You seem to have a break in the ridge? rim? where the starter fits into the engine. See second pic.

Re: Oil Change.... All Oil Leaks Out

The spark plug wells are holding water. There is a drain hole at the bottom. Use a stiff wire to clean out.

Re: 82 gl1100i CARB SYNC

You probably need to do a static bench sync in order to get all 4 carb butterflies as close as possible before doing the sync with the gauge. I don't know if there is a how to here but there are vids on youtube.

Have you tried the starter with all the plugs out? If hydro locked gas will spray out so do this outside.

Re: New 2018 Goldwing Survey

I don't have one nor will I purchase one due to age and price but I watched a comparison of the new Wing and the new BMW 1600 by two riders in, I think, Romania. The wing ultimately won but they both voiced this comparison. The BMW was so much more nimble in city riding. One even says he became dizz...

Re: tire question

Personally I would not take the chance either but if you do look into Ride-on tire balance and sealer. It also depends where the puncture is in the tire. Must be in or near the center of the tread. If you have balance beads don't use a sealant. Look at the videos here. https://www.jpcycles.com/produ...

First (guess) The clutch is failing. Not disengaging. Might be the master cylinder return hole is plugged. Test by opening the bleeder valve to release any pressure.

Re: Need diagnostic advice

Just judging by the pics the #2 carb is running rich. In order to find and fix that one carb you will need to pull the carbs so you may as well plan on a rebuild. That carb could have a float valve that isn't sealing or a float hanging up or out of adjustment. Question: Were the pics taken after ext...

Re: Wiring questions on my 1977 Goldwing

Does your bike still have points or has an electronic ignition been added? If electronic then that added 2ohm resistor may be there for a reason. Also if electronic you don't need the condenser. The resistor on the left side is used with the reserve lighting unit. For a description of the reserve li...
