Still in the works but here is a preview. mOeSD6m8lec No time to work on it today. Maybe finish it up in a couple of days. Thanks again for the pic...

Re: Terrible Milage on my brothers 1500

You could also check the ignition system. Pull out the spark plugs one by one and look for a change at the engine sound and rpm. No change will indicate a ignition problem at that cylinder. Carburetor synchronization, bad carb.slides, vacuum line leaks, bad spark plugs, bad air filter, bad engine c...

Terrible Milage on my brothers 1500

My brother has a 1500 that only gets about 25mpg. This is a significant drop. He used to be getting 40mpg. The bike runs fine. He has torn the bike apart looking for a fuel leak but has not been able to find one. He has replaced the air filter and fuel filter. He is pretty frusterated. I saw on anot...

Com systems

Is the com system on a 1500 and 1800 the same?
Found a guy who has one that I think is from an 1800. I have a 1500.
They are 5 pin.
Thanks for the answers.

Re: Brake noise

Didn't mean to imply that I was seating the pads by braking hard. This has been a squeal that I have had for a couple years. Very irritating!!!

But I will definitely radius the edges a little and see if that helps. Thanks

Re: Brake noise

Have a similar problem with my 81 1100. Front has a squeal that is very loud. Checked the pads and they are fine. Found that if I hard brake once in a while the squealing is reduced or stopped but comes back in a short period of time. So I am interested to see what kind of response you get.

Re: Most frustrating bike ever

Rust in the tank...I had that too. Had the carbs off 2 times and then tore the bike apart and had the tank coated. No more issues. As far as that connector melting...Had that too. Twice. Just found that my patch had burned through again. I was running 50 watt lamps on the front. Have recently conver...

Cant find leak in rear air shocks 81 GL1100 Asp

This has me stumped. My rear suspension will hold about 43 LBS of air. I can pump it up to max but quickly leaks back down to the 43 LBS. I have soaped all the lines and fittings from the compressor on back to the shocks but have not found any leaks. This bike sat for a number of years before I boug...

Re: Markland Driver Boards miossing shift linkage

Ok got the boards installed. shifter is working properly. The board on the brake side is interfering with the brake action. The brake lever is actually hitting the board pipe on the inside. Bikerbuck..Any chance you could send me a pic of the brake side of your bike to see what is different? Thanks ...

Re: Markland Driver Boards miossing shift linkage

I think you both may be right.
The forked piece is correct but I don't see how that can connect directly to shifter since the shifter is under the head.

And so I need a linkage to make the connection.

Markland Driver Boards miossing shift linkage

Ok I have a set of driver boards for the 1100 but the guy I bought them from shorted me the shifting linkage.
I have no idea what it even looks like.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, send me a picture, or knows a place that I can get one, please let me know.

Thanks

Tires

Looking at a Kenda tire for my 1100.
I do not know bike tires soooo.
I am looking to buy over the net to avoid the prices at a dealer.
I figured to spend $100 or so but found a Kenda K673 Kruz Motorcycle Tire at bike bandit for $60.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks
