Re: Installing a CB on a 1992 GL1500 Interstate.

I forgot to ad that CB channel selection is controlled by the handle bar switch, and can be changed on the fly.
If you travel with a group, CB is a blessing for communication. IE... bathroom break, motorcycle problem, route change, or just having multiple conversations to pass time.

Re: Installing a CB on a 1992 GL1500 Interstate.

If i may ad, I personally love having the functionality of the radio/CB thru our headsets. (we seldom use the outside speakers) My 1200 initially had a aftermarket system with a hand held mike and I hated it. I found a NOS original system which I installed and it all worked flawlessly and SAFELY. My...

Re: Installing a CB on a 1992 GL1500 Interstate.

The factory CB does not use the radio display on the GL1500. The CB unit has it's own display on the unit. I would remove the L/S tupper ware and see if the harness's are pre installed. My 86 GL1200 was pre wired when I installed the CB, It was plug and play. Doe your bike have any antennas? Being a...

Re: Trike Options for GL1500

Hi tbird71 I have a 97 GL1500 and I installed the Voyager kit on my wing. We absolutely love it. It takes a while to get it dialed in to your personal taste and requirements. ( do you ride single or two up?) It makes a difference when setting preload. We have it dialed in and never looked back. I in...

Re: GL1500 REAR BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER OUT IN 30 MINUTES, EASY

Thank you JoeDallastx

There is nothing wrong with your repair and appreciate you sharing this solution.
Being a retired Master ASE technician I can safely say this repair is every bit as reliable as the factory install.
Thank you again,
Bob

Re: Goldwing 1500 trike.

Hello I just wanted to say that I installed a "Voyager" kit on my 97 GL1500 SE. I originally installed the kit so my wife who thought about getting her bike license could drive it. Although it takes only minutes to remove the outrigger once the brackets are installed, (and ride on two whee...

Re: 1986 aspencade radio

Hello again I agree that poor grounds cause all sorts of problems, but seeing that the radio illuminates indicates to me it has some kind of a ground source. With the radio actually playing with the flashers on sounds like the power supply. I believe that there are 2 power feeds. One is constant 12v...

Are the cooling fans coming on?
If the thermo switch is bad, you can install a manual toggle switch to turn them on when needed.

Re: 1986 aspencade radio

Are you hitting the speaker / headset switch by accident or the radio mute switch?
Just a possibility.
Do you use a headset or just the speakers?

Re: A 1500 upgrade

I would recommend installing the shift brace now, before any possible damage could occur.
And replace the shifter seal at the same time.
GL1500 are known for the poorly designed shifter assembly.
I did my 97 and it has been worth the investment.

I'm not positive but it reminds me of the bolts for the engine guards or floorboards?
Look at this pile for sale on EBAY.
Some appear similar..
Good Luck

Re: Heat reflective cover?

I use the UltraGard Half Cover-for Honda Goldwing GL1800 GL1500 GL1200 GL1100 for most outdoor idle time.
It goes on quickly, water proof and light weight.
It comes in multiple colors to choose from.
Many available on EBAY.
