Invalid Operation error

I've recently developed an issue, of whenever I take the bike out of Neutral, or using the "reverse" button [which also 'takes it out of neutral'], I get an "Invalid Operation" error on the screen. Easy enough to get rid of it by just pressing the "back" or "enter&...

Re: Sirius/XM Satellite Radio Antenna Location

well, took the wind shield off, couldn't remove the upper fairing piece. I could only loosen the front black shield part enough to shine a light up and try to get a peak. I don't know how the top fairing dash comes off and I didn't want to break anything. So-I saw nothing remotely looking like an an...

Re: Sirius/XM Satellite Radio Antenna Location

i ended up buying an OEM antenna , and found the connector under the right side control panel.for $40 it was ALOT easier.just disconnect the old one , hook on new and run the wire up the right side up the dash. viola! better reception. Does that just pop off? I'm assuming you're talking about the m...

Re: Sirius/XM Satellite Radio Antenna Location

Just got my 2009 goldwing.. in the same boat. I want to get to the antennas and put them on the dash. But the posts are confusing. One says you have to remove the upper dash panel, another says they removed the front fairing and windshield. Which one is it? or both - just depends on route one wants ...

Re: No vacuum #1 carb

well, while the tubing was clear, the brass tube connector had a clog in it (phew). I blew it out and things are good and back to normal and all is well with the world again.
Thanks for all the advice! :)

Re: No vacuum #1 carb

I'll check the tap and see. But I suspect it's clear. I'll make sure my tubing isn't damaged too. But since the gauges read both ways (pressure/vacuum) and NOTHING happens either way, and if the line is clear and good.. I suspect I have a major piston/engine issue. :(

Re: No vacuum #1 carb

Already swapped gauges... all good there. (Would have rather it been my gauge )
Butterflys looked good before I installed, but will double check that just in case.

No vacuum #1 carb

Just rebuilt my carbs and got them back in. Connected the sync gauges and..... no vacuum whatsoever in #1 carb. I pulled the cap off/loose and inspected the spring and piston, seems okay.. but nothing when I run the bike. I guess then it goes to possibly no fuel getting through the jets/carb? Should...

Re: New member

This is a pic of the raw display, not mounted - still on bench test here. But shows the digits lit up. no bargraph is displayed as the speed is "00". But you can clearly see the LED's for the bargraph. This display will easily fit in the fairing center dash [where the original CB/Clock/Rad...

Re: New member

Wow, I'd love to see some pictures of this! What did you use for the digital speedometer? It was an older board manufactured by Dakota Digital [they no longer make this board, but I am in the process of redesigning it so that I can make more should I want. They do make complete systems now, but not...

Re: XM Radio Reception

I put mine on the faring dash and so far works great! It's not the factory unit as my bike is a 82 aspencade 1100. I retrofitted mine to include a GPS/MP3/XM radio, put the antenna where I mentioned. Works just fine. I don't know where they put the new [factory included] ones at.

Re: Looking at a bike

I agree with wingadmin, I've NEVER had any problems getting parts, but my parts have been minor. If taken care of, these machines should only require very minor, and only routine maintenance.

But even carb rebuild kits can be had just about anywhere. Not cheap, but available.

Re: New member

I also am the proud owner of an 82 Aspencade 1100. They are absolutely the sweetest machines made, in my humble opinion of course ;) They have a personality all of their own. I would take my wing over any ride [including the Harleys] any day. I just spent the last several months repainting and retro...
