Re: Toy Haulers

Thanks for the fellow brainstorming and sharing of your ideas and experiences. This info gets stored away for future use, even if I'm not able to use today. I have used that tongue raising technique to load my wing in my 10' trailer, with short tailgate/loading ramp. The safest way of doing this is ...

Re: Toy haulers.

Any pictures, Pam? Sounds like what I need.
What are the additional panels fabricated from?
Does the added weight make for a pretty heavy door to lower and raise?
Thanks,
David

Re: RV Toy Hauler Info

Thanks, Scooter. Any idea on brand names? I wanted to see something that works . . . maybe fabricate my own. Considering a wide, foldable aluminum ramp to affix to end of stock door/ramp, which could be held at a higher level with something like jack stands. I have heard of attaching a ramp extensio...

Re: RV Toy Hauler Info

So, has anyone hauled a Goldwing in a side loading toy hauler. I am getting a Keystone Outback Toyhauler and am brainstorming for revising garage door/ramp. Being that the floor of toy haulers is about 3 feet off the ground, the stock door/ramp is too short and steep to keep from "high-centering" at...

Re: How to tie down Goldwings for transport

It sounds like there are "optimum" locations for the D-Rings, mounted to the trailer or vehicle, in which you are hauling your Wing. Thusly, the suggested soft tie down straps, can be pulled by the Rachet straps in the proper direction; to both stabilize the bike, as well as having the straps placed...

Re: What clothing do you wear

After riding for 50+ years, my preference in riding attire has evolved. Exposed skin can have pain inflicted on it by sand, pebbles, bugs, birds, and the sun. Live and learn. As I say, I have ridden for many years, and in my teens really detested the mandatory helmet laws in AR at that time. After t...

Re: ABS sheet or fiberglass cloth?

I certainly see the advantage to chemically welding ABS to ABS for a stronger, more resilient bond.

My question is where do you get your sheets of ABS in their various thicknesses?

Can I assume retasking empty antifreeze bottles will yield fairly flat sheets of ABS?

Re: How to install Dyna Beads in your tires

Pardon me, if I missed it . . . I think I have read most of the posts in this thread . . . , but, given EPA Standards, and all in places like California, there seem to be alternatives needed to balance tires without using lead. I have heard nothing but good stuff about Dyna Beads, except ignorant co...

Re: Ads in my post

Ads cannot be stopped. Companies like google control the internet and can override anything and everything that should block ads. They have the ability to insert them anywhere. I am now finding sites that put flyovers in the middle of what you are trying to read...There is no close button. You move...

Re: Ads in my post

Ok, new here. Why am I getting Spam added to the bottom of my post? You know, I did a quote on your post, fully thinking it was part of your post! From your comment, and looking back, I now see there is an ad for Orr Honda (auto) in Hot Springs, AR. At least this one is not offensive, and I have a ...

Re: Ads in my post

I find this ad with the banana on it is one of the most aggravating type ads that appear online! They purport that they will provide valuable information, but never reveal anything other than 30 minutes of useless verbiage about why you should buy their diet plan! :o What a boring crock! I am not bu...

Re: Bonding Saddlebag cracks

Great thread, Guys. A lot of good info here. A question to all that have used the Bondo to fill, smooth, repair ABS plastic: how big of a hole have you filled, and how long has it been since you did it . . . In other words, how long lasting has your project been. A comment & question about using fib...

Re: GPS to Goldwing input device

Bought one and can say it was received and installed just as advertised but the audio out of my Garmin Zumo 550 is so low I can barely hear it. Plugged in some ear buds to the 550 with the same results. All volume settings on the Zumo, both from the main screen and the Tools menu volume, are at max...

Re: GPS to Goldwing input device

I wish my radar detector/jammer had an audio out jack. While I'm wishing, I wish that Garmin and Honda would support decent updates for the built-in Navigation for my '06 Wing! I went all summer last year and into a fall trip with no updates and Garmin saying there was a glitch in the new product. I...

With fuel line off petcock- Does fuel come out the petcock when valve is open. With fuel line and filter attached to petcock does fuel line come out after filter, before you attach to pump? Is fuel line attached to proper inlet at pump? Does pump receive 12 volts when ignition is turned on? Can you...

The posting above with picture and schematic may be just what I need, but it is too small and fuzzy to make anything out. The only thing I can read is Fuel Pump Relay, because it is in large letters. I can make the picture larger, but it all get fuzzier. :0(

Re: Locating fuel pump relay

Well, My brother and I have switched out the fuel pump on his '84 Trike. This machine has 100k miles on it, and the other pump was letting fuel leak down to the crankcase if shutoff valve was not being closed when Wing was shut down . . . I mean a full tank leaking down! Anyway, we have this one bol...
