Re: I Walked Away!

Wow, glad you're still here to post. Was the sand wind-blown, spilled from a vehicle, or...? ...was it something else? I had a close call a couple of weeks ago, | was negotiating a roundabout and hit some spilt grain (it's harvest time), which acted like a lot of ball bearings. Lost the back end fo...

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?

I am actually remarkably improved - I still have one or two faintly blue toes from the bruising. No drugs or treatment other than gentle exercise and prayer - never underestimate the power of the latter. My friend had a mass said for me which I am convinced helped - I know, not very PC nowadays. I a...

Re: What's Happening Today?

the river you speak of is one of my favorites
It is so blue, I used to joke to a friend there that it must be spilt dye from a jeans factory.

Re: What's Happening Today?

I have spent some time in that area of Michigan, mainly St Clair River and Huron coast. Lovely place (apart from the mosquitoes which nearly devoured me). But I don't know how you manage to ride in the heat, it was too hot for me in summer, and certainly too cold for me in winter - it actually hurt ...

Re: What's Happening Today?

Took a short ride today to my favourite church. An ancient little place along a short lane. It is surrounded by open farmland and woods. The church is always open and defied all the lockdown restrictions, remaining open when everywhere else was closed. The original church was recorded in the Domesda...

Blue is snow, green is rain. For a closer look at just Colorado, click on it.
Sorry!! Getting old, managed to read Colorado as Canada. Tiny phone screen didn't help.

Always regarded Colorado as a baking hot, dry desert - with added snakes, or is that Arizona?

Re: What's Happening Today?

I hear the "free beer is tomorrow"
What a coincidence, my local pub is doing the exact same offer. I suspect there is an international beer glut they are not telling us about. It'll be like global warming, all the beer dams will burst and we'll drown in ale.

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?

Frustratingly, I have lots of sheep at the edge of my village about 1/5 a mile away. Sadly, I fell off my other motorcycle at the weekend and can't ride (or walk much really) at the moment.

Re: Trike Opinions

Never really saw the point of trikes. I am not anti-trike, they look very good and I always give them a wave, and I have never ridden/driven a trike so I might be missing something. But it seems to me that you get the worst of two worlds, you are stuck in traffic just like cars and you are out in th...

The problem with the US is that it is so BIG. I did a coast to coast ride here earlier this year, it took me a morning.

Though Google Earth doesn't seem to have a problem. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.01578 ... 312!8i6656

Mind you, it might be different if I parked my Wing outside and tried it.

Forgot all about this game, with lockdown and stuff going on. Lots of radio/radar masts around here but they are mostly military - some US military, or GCHQ ones. I don't want to annoy them.

Re: Piles of Tupperware

I have two "Great Houses" near to where I live now, Sledmere House about 10 miles to the north, and Burton Agnes Hall about 5 miles distance to the East.
To my shame, I have never visited either!

Re: Piles of Tupperware

What is a "Highclere castle"? I know what a castle is, just never heard the word Highclere. Thanks for the information, always nice to learn something new. Ed Indeed, as Crusty1 says, Highclere Castle is where they filmed the TV series, Downton Abbey. It isn't actually a castle, but a very large co...

Re: How low is low MPG?

Like CT1500 stated, I usually always got 37-42mpgs, on my '93 Aspencade. That is my usual range (in US gallons). I rarely ride two up, though much of my travel is on twisty country lanes. On a recent trip to London (225 miles each way) I averaged 37.5mpg going south - into the wind, and 42.5mpg com...

safety and efficacy
Just like they did at Chernobyl - yes, I know it is in the Ukraine, but it was fundamentally Russian in design and practise.

Re: Coronavirus Advice

Russia just develop a vaccine against Covid-19!
If their vaccines are of the same quality as the motorcycles they produce then I wouldn't hold out too much hope on that one. I suspect that this is just another Russian propaganda stunt.
