Go for a recombinant vaccine. Though whichever one you get I am sure you will be fine. You don't want to be going down with Covid-19 at 78 yrs. But it's your choice of course and I wish you well and good health.I am afraid of the vaccine for Covid....

Re: Covid....... Interested in people's opinions.
so when it is convenient for me to go get a vaccine without waiting in line for hours I was vaccinated against C19 a couple of weeks ago, it was a refreshing experience. I had to drive 35 miles to the vaccine centre after booking it online, and arrived 10 minutes early. I was vaccinated and sat bac...

Climate change was also an issue at this time. Only then we were being told that mankind was going to be wiped away because another ice age was coming.that scam came to us from the Greenie Weenies.

but the law ended up never being implemented It was law in the UK for a short time to reduce the amount of fuel needed - it was aimed primarily at cars which back then, used significantly more fuel at 70mph than 50mph. Indeed, the government went so far as to issue old wartime coupons with the aim ...

Re: Do you wear your " Helmet "
The problem I've always had is when I don a helmet I become irrational and invincible,,, This has been shown to be a factor with regard to pedal cyclists who wear helmets. There is evidence to suggest that some riders take greater risks when wearing a helmt. It has also been noted that some car dri...

Re: How often do you use your centerstand
So instead of maybe 150 lbs of force required, you need more like 200 lbs. This is the problem with my relatively small and light Jawa. When the machine is on its centre stand the front wheel is off the ground completely and the wheel can by spun quite freely; whereas the rear wheel is very firmly ...

Re: How often do you use your centerstand
I find my gl1500 to be balanced beautifully and is not hard to put on its centrestand. My little 350 Jawa's stand is much harder to use and certainly takes a great deal more effort, despite it weighing less than 200 kilos.despite any hernia-inducing risk.

Bring back Capital punishment! Our useless police and courts have convicted too many innocents for that. We (UK) have one of the lowest murder rates in the world, I don't think capital punishment would make much difference - it might make it worse. "He that is without sin among you, let him fi...

DKW's motorcycle factory was in Zschopau eastern Germany, near the border of Czechoslovakia. After the war, Zschopau was in communist East Germany (DDR) and the factory continued making motorcycles under the name of MZ - Motorenwerke Zschopau. After unification, the factory closed for good. MZ still...

TL;DR: In 1913, 33.38 people died for every 10,000 vehicles on the road. In 2018, the death rate was 1.42 per 10,000 vehicles, a 96% improvement. Similar picture in the UK, the first statistics recorded are from 1926 when 4,884 road deaths occured. In 2019 there were 1,870. Back to Haynes. A real s...

Re: Looking for information on new boots
I use Daytona boots year round. Usually need slightly thicker socks in winter but that's all. They are very expensive but mine are now 22 years old and still working well though clearly they don't look as good as they did.

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
That is the "Bridge of Sighs" in Oxford (university). It isn't all that old despite its looks, I believe it was built around 1914. It is also a long way from where I live. If the weather eases up I might go out and find a bridge I can park next to that meets the criteria, though it definit...

What purpose does a covered bridge serve, other than to cross a river etc? What was the cover used for? Did it once have a toll booth under it?

Shipment delays
It's not just the US suffering from this. This pic is of the old Manston Airport (it was a fighter base in WW2) which is being used to park trucks backed up from the port of Dover in England - the shortest ferry route to France and Europe. Delays are due to Covid restrictions and the French being aw...

Thank you for your post. Have a wonderful and holy Christmas.
We had at least three flakes of snow today - I don't think that counts as a white Christmas. Hopefully that's all we wil get. The days are getting longer now.

Re: How to winterize your motorcycle
I just looked up your weather in Kentucky, it hardly seems worth putting your bike away for your short, relatively mild winter. It looks like there would be plenty of days when you can use it, and things warm up significantly in March - the site says Kentucky is at its best in spring and autumn. I a...

If you do manage to come up with a solution then I will nip over the water and bring mine for you to work on. It would be a shame not to utilise all that knowledge you have acquired. No idea if I'll be able to come up with a creative (non-destructive) solution for that hurdle!

Re: Flat tire. ARGHHH!!
It took three weeks for my rear tyre (Dunlop Elite 4) to arrive. It was ordered from Germany and I think they must have put it on a barge down the Rhine to Holland and then shipped it by sail boat to England.I had to order up a front tire a week ago and change it out,
