Re: Rear tire failure

I was less than diligent about checking the condition of my rear tire!!
I suspect a lot of us fall into that trap. The rear tyre isn't the easiest to examine properly. It necessitates getting down on the floor with a lamp. Even checking the pressure is a pain.

She looks splendid - not sure I am aloud to use such pronouns now! I don't suppose you kept a video vlog of your restoration? I really enjoy watching stuff like that on YouTube. It doesn't matter how poorly filmed or edited, they are usually much more entertaining than the 95% of drivel shown on tv ...

Re: Klím Induction Jacket

Klim! When I was very young, my father told me that the word klim was German for milk and it was easy to remember because klim is milk spelt backwards.. I believed him, for years. Klim is a well known brand of American dried milk and was well known to soldiers in the Second World War.

Re: GOLDWING GL1500 DEALER SERVICE

.I was told last week by the Honda Motorcycle dealers in Modesto & Stockton CA that they are no longer doing any repair work of Goldwing 1500's. Go in and see them. Tell them you want to buy a new Goldwing. Go up to the wire but then before you hand out any money, tell them you have changed your mi...

Re: Survived deer hit at 55 mph

I remember when I visited Michigan seeing huge herds of deer, often very near to large cities. In England we don't have any where near the problems you gentlemen have but they are becoming more and more of a problem. Here, deer have no real natural enemies - apart from motor traffic as very few are ...

You don't go into a store and pull out the waistband of your underwear, and say "Hey, everyone, look at my underwear!"
Ah, that's where I am going wrong. Anyone know a good lawyer I can use.

Re: My Final Ride

That gravel that washes down after a rain storm is awful stuff. It is bad enough when you encounter it in the day light - it always seems to be on bends too. Glad you came through this if not intact, at least in one piece. You have my prayers for a continued recovery.

Does it usually snow so far north? I briefly visited Cambelltown (many decades ago now) - it was very hot.

Re: Gear indicators

I really don't see the point of them on a five speed gearbox. There is an indicator for top - overdrive, which is where my 1500 spends most of its time. You surely don't need an indicator to tell that you are in 1st gear, which leaves only three to remember.

Re: GWRRA Members ???

How about the fact you join an organization where the members have no voice in the way its run. And the fact he shut down TRI to put the members into GWWRRA to bolster its sagging numbers. Its an overpriced business.
Sounds just like the European Union.

None of that boot nonsense here. They would have taken your leg off below the knee. A few years ago you would have had a strip of leather to chew on while they did the cutting, things have improved now and you get a hi-tec piece of silicone to bite.
