Connect the sense wire to any switched power. The aux fuse panel is a good choice.

Re: Darkside: No Taxi Tire...now what?
I have said it before and will say it again. I am using a General Tire Altimax 195-55-16 on my 97 1500 with no issues at all. It does NOT rub the swing arm, it does NOT ride on the sidewall. This tire works well for me, I like to toss it around in the twisties here in the mountains of British Columb...

Re: Counteract Beads for Trailer Tires
I use the beads in my trailer too, it is my experience that “too many beads “ within reason are not harmful to the balancing. Better too much than not enough. I would use no more than 2 oz. in the 8 to 12 “ tires. Same as you would for the front tire on your bike.

It is safe to charge your battery at 2 amps, the rule of thumb says 10% of battery capacity is safe for wet cell and AGM batteries.

Hap2 , do you own a measuring tape? It's the only way to be sure you get the correct size for your needs.

Re: Austone Taxi Tire
I know this tire change is fairly popular to do, but doesn't it severely decrease the handling on twisties? It may be fine for casual cruising but can't handle as well as a good MC tire for spirited riding. Anyone regret making the switch? The Austone tire is more than capable of any spirited ridin...

Re: Anyone been turned away from CycleMax?
It was attached to the front of the bike with the screws supplied, and after seeing how much it stuck out on both sides, it was immediately removed and placed back in the original packaging. these are your words and the very definition of used. You bolted it on, that means it fit. you just didnt li...

+1 on the shifter pivot, new seal at the same time and you will think you have a new bike even with the heal toe shifter. this is the design that the factory should have done since day one

Re: GL1100 alternator conversion (how I did mine)
The 2 inch pulley you see in the pics came from another alternator salvaged from a wrecking yard. check with an alternator repair shop to see what they can supply you with, or have one cut to your specs at a machine shop. I spent alot of hours in the wrecking yard looking for parts that will work fo...

The widest you can fit in the swing arm is a 195 CT, there is no more room for anything wider. I have been running a 195-55-16 for a couple of years now, it works well.

The Austone taxi tire is a 175R-16,. Here's a link to a data base that shows what tires others are running on what bikes. Just scroll down till you find the bike you want to know about
