I contacted the company, and they have now made the models accessible. Could you try again? Feel free to contact me for anything regarding this.

Re: Custom 3D printed cockpit
Thanks for the compliment :) In fact, I decided to put the model on Shapeways: https://www.shapeways.com/designer/kndw/creations . If anyone wants one, let me know -i've not actually used Shapeways before. I could also make custom changes. The voltmeter graphics I just painted around very carefully ...

Take look in this topic "if it sounds like the valves are too loose" https://goldwingdocs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=43201&p=267071#p267071 In the above case, it turned out the valve stem tips were damaged. It can also be the pistons in the carburetors. Then maybe synchronizatio...

Custom 3D printed cockpit
Hi all, When I ran my GL with a fairing and audiosystem installed, I sometimes found that playing music would put too much load on the charging system. To monitor this, I installed a voltmeter; first a small digital one, mounted in a small metal case near the crash bars, but this didn't look right. ...

Re: GL1000 weaving, wobbling, wallowing
Oops, never posted an update... I guess I parked the bike for winter after the last post, and then forgot about it. Since then, I have only ridden the bike fully dressed a few times, but one of those times was an 800km trip summer 2019, with Autobahn. I found that the bike was stable up to about 140...

Re: Vetter Fairing
Really nicely done! I have a Rickman fairing which I also adapted to fit a bluetooth amp and speakers, which connects to my phone. I can post an image/video if you're interested. A problem I encountered was that the GL1000 charging system isn't powerful enough to play music, keep the lights on and c...

You mean those miniscule pins sticking out into the carb opening? Sorry, no experience doing that. Have you asked Randakk's? They're usually quite helpful.

Re: Gl1000 carbs
+1 on the slides.
I've had a similar problem, whrre the bikr would idle fine and also run well except at ~2500 rpm. I found the slide on one cilinder to be sticking just a tiny bit. After proper cleaning and polishing it was resolved.

Re: Vetter Trunk
Mine too has dual filament bulbs. I did however have problems with the battery dying when riding slowly through city traffic, which I believe is a consequence of the gl1000 charging system not having much reserve... I'd install a switch somewhere to turn them off if necessary.

I found some pictures. In the first image you see the 3d printed adapter next to something I tried before, with in the background the stick-TSI
And here I painted and mounted them

Re: Vetter Top box and saddle bags
on my bike, the TSI are originally mounted to the grab rail under the saddle via some hollow pins. To mount the vetter kit, I had to take the TSI off and the pins out. I then re-used these with the vetter mounting hardware: I put the pint through the holes at the top-rear end of the saddlebag frames...

Re: Extreme gas smell specific to carbs
A late update: The bike is now parked for winter, and I noticed now that it stank regardless of the set of carbs  It turns out that the smell came from the fuel gauge sending unit. I had the gas tank filled to the brim, and there was fuel pooling on top of the sending unit. This probably means...

Re: carbs not getting gas
I'd start at the petcock. Does fuel come out there if you turn it to open? Then inspect the fuel filter down the fuel line. If it is dirty, replace it. then test if fuel comes out of the pump if you run the starter. If this all works, then it seems like the carbs are the cause. These you can take of...

Re: Leak at oil level inspection window
I don't have any advice on how to seal a leak from the outside. Unfortunately, if you want to do it properly, I think you will not only have to pull the engine, but also split the cases. This is a huge job. While the window is sold (or has been) as an individual part, it isn't available a.t.m. from ...

No spark on any of the spark plugs?
I would first check if there is power going to the ignition system. Is the kill switch in the proper position? Is the power going to the coils (black/white wire)?

Re: Wiring a new start switch assembly - 9 wires to 5
First, which switch did you use and did you check that the wires that were the same colours connected the equilavent terminals on each switch? The two yellow wires are connected when the parking light and #headlamp is on. They bring further output from the alternator into play. I don't have a speci...

Re: Faux tank alignment
I figured this one out -the hinge that keeps the tank lid up is covered by a plastic bushing, which apparently can be the wrong way around
Now it looks good again.

Refurbish spoked wheels
As a winter project, I thought it might be nice to refurbish the wheels on my '76, and I could use some advice. A few years ago, I replaced the spokes with stainless steel ones, and as the aluminum on the rims was oxidized, I chose to paint those and the hubs black. Of course, the paint got chipped ...

Re: Wiring a new start switch assembly - 9 wires to 5
I’ve connected the 5 new wires too the main harness - colour coding made that easy. But, things aren’t working so I assume I can’t just leave the old wires without some jumper connections or something? Can anybody help? The wire colours from the old setup that don’t have a ‘mate’ now are brown/blue...

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. The tube where the centerstand connects to is fine. I can see it clearly because i've got a motad exhaust system. Very nice! Can you also give some more info about the front brakes? So these are refurbished discs with calipers from what bike exactly?
