Re: Gen 1...??

At the risk of sounding foolish BUT in the use of online parts accessory sites
I would think it's Gen1 2001 to 2017 of the 1800
And Gen2 as the 2018 up 1800 on the New platform body style

Kinda like how THIS forum is laid out

Re: engine hydrolock

Luckily you never needed to Reverse either, or your buds helped there too. Wouldn't center standing allow better chance for both banks to have a cylinder lockup or is it still just the weakest float, needle and seat that chooses which side? isn't there a tiny vent in the cap that prevents excess pre...

Re: trailer lghts not working

Actually was thinking about a TSB GM had a few years back; quoting here.... General Motors has become aware of a fuse recall by Harbor Freight Tools/Storehouse for a variety of aftermarket fuses. In two cases, these fuses have not provided protection for the wiring system of the vehicles they were c...

You'd be my hero IF you could do same for idiots taking videos to send to the network news so the rest of the world can watch vertically shot images on a WIDESCREEN tv with 2 blurry images and the vertical in the center 1/3.

Re: well, crud

If it's not cross thread or bottomed out then maybe a ice pick or sharp chisel can turn it.
If hole is threaded all the way thru bracket a small drill may bite enough to turn bolt out the back side.

I feel shoes are important to the process, namely the work shoes I normally ride with. Also maximum air in shocks, as mentioned. I am borderline able to do it without a bit of assistance and have much more success Using my LEFT foot to do the stand than my right, better angle and position with grab ...

Re: Body part fitment

Maybe others will have more experience but I seem to remember that the radio wiring has to lay exactly right or it doesn't fit

Mine had the chrome below windshield and worked fine
Maybe PO did something to prevent the sliding, have to get a peek to know.

Re: Adding a CD changer

the connector is under the seat and harness can go thru to under trunk floor storage pocket with the CB wiring (if equipped).
Mine is just setting on top of cb, I opted for a ipod style instead of usb, ipod clipped to side of trunk on divider.

Re: Accessory outlet

the outlet typically mounts inside the LH storage compartment. there is a connector under there from the bike. remove the compartment by pushing the center of the plastic pin retainers in a bit then pull pocket out. there are marks to drill hole location for outlet, mount it and reverse removal. may...

the couple I looked at only support '05-'08 in the wings.
the Healtech site mentions "Beware", these knockoffs are old models that still need their software, don't update, and limited functions.........

Re: Fog light bulbs

maybe i'm confused but the 10-104 look like position bulbs which are beside the headlight, between T/S lens. You're wanting the lower lights by engine guards commonly called Fog, Driving, Cornering? pay attention to style bulb as there was a slight change that did not interchange. browse these and s...

Re: Goldwing Trunk Dividers

I will say the ones for 1500 trunk are much nicer than ones for 1800s.
I had both trunk and saddlebag ones on the 15 and liked them. the area on a 18 is not as well defined for use.

for the cruise surge, if it never settles in, I would suggest replace speedo cable.
my 88 got to be a surger, replaced cable and was very steady after engagement. lubing old cable did not fix it.

Re: Battery Tenders for GL1800

John
Whenever I think 10.5 voltage it sounds like a battery with a week cell
As others mentioned leaving set during winter months I also could fire up my 1500 without additional charge and you KNOW how they need voltage! Haven't had the 18 long enough yet to winter.......
