Re: RAM Mount GDS Dock Handlebar Phone Mount

I'm having great success with this Amazon 'Imestou'-brand WIRELESS charging cell phone holder. Very secure, easy on/off, tho I still do keep a tether attached after seeing a guy lose his phone once. Big, thick case might be too much but I keep my phone in a case and it works/fits just fine. Tether ...

That's a good point - are you sure it's a 1100 engine? And not just a 1000 engine with 1100 valve covers?

Re: meant to happen?

I've owned and played synthesizers since I was a teenager. Back in the 1980's, I spent thousands of dollars (and in the 1980's, thousands was a lot of money!) on analog synths, newfangled "samplers" and so on. By the early 2000's, they were worthless and obsolete. Some of them I sold for a...

Re: Newly Weds and Old Wings

I built an aircraft engine for a guy that was building a homebuilt biplane. When I got it done and delivered it, I noticed that his wife wasn't around. Asked him about it and he said that he had been working on that plane for 12 years, The wife came to him one day and told him "it was her or t...

Stay Warm! Selecting and Using the Best Heated Gear - and BORLENI Heated Gloves Review (VIDEO)

In this video, I talk about what heated gear I use to ride comfortably in bone-chilling temperatures. I then do a review and ride test of the inexpensive BORLENI heated gloves , which run either off your bike's power or internal batteries. These gloves are available from Amazon right now for a speci...

Re: GL1500 - 1995 ANTI DIVE

Thanks, WingAdmin Very good advice. Much appreciated. As I said, I'll overhaul the forks this winter, find out what springs are in it, change out if stock and possibly go to Emulators, if I have the $$ at the time. Probably 10W fork oil, although I'm seeing a lot of 15W being used successfully. Tim...

Re: GL1500 - 1995 ANTI DIVE

My 1984 750 Interceptor had TRAC. The suspension on the GL1500 is relatively soft, and really has to be, or the bike will get beat to pieces on rough roads. Without the anti-dive in place, you're going to be pointing down at the ground uncomfortably every time you brake. In practice, with properly m...

Re: Clutch actuator

Honestly I couldn't move it. It took everything I had to get it to barely wiggle Totally normal. I don't remember what the lever ratio is on the clutch lever, but it's quite high. It can easily exert 100 lbs of force on the actuator lever. There's a reason why the clutch cable is as thick as it is!

Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

a regular MC tire, run on low pressure WILL loosen from the bead. you never know it until you high side at speed, or fall over at 5mph. bead detention is not something that should scare you. Goldwings have their tires mounted VERY tightly - they are pretty tough to mount and de-mount. I've had chal...

Re: The frustrating task of finding that PART

I replaced my left side mirror last year on my 2005 and was lucky to find a color match. But, I almost bought a pair of chrome mirrors because they were much cheaper. But, I don't like a lot of chrome so I paid for what I got. Many aftermarket parts manufacturers chrome plate their plastic parts. W...

There's been a request for a centralized list of which tires fit which models of Goldwing. I figured a topic dedicated to this can't hurt.
