Re: OEM Tool Tray
The tool tray may be ABS, but don't believe the body panels are. Drop some acetone or nail polish remover on the tool tray. If it softens, it's ABS. I've repaired cracks in ABS panels by drizzling acetone into the cracks and holding them together snugly. All the body panels on all Goldwings ever ma...

Re: Stabil seems to work then!
The main difference between red automotive Stabil and Marine Stabil is that the marine version off-gases from the surface of the gasoline, which coats the inside of the gas tank to prevent it from corroding.

Re: Just a color question
The wing in your photo is a 2000 just going by the gold anniversary crest on the chrome apron. (I had a green 2000SE). According to the paint color link, that makes it Pearl Glacier white, while the '90 has Pacific Pearl White nh251p which is the paint code under my gas cap door. The 89 Pacific coa...

Re: Replacement "Cross-Pipe"
The #1 way to know your crossover is leaking is the presence of coolant (or coolant stains) on the top of the engine.

Re: Just a color question
Thanx for the link Andy. Looks like the main color and accent colors were unique to the1990 SE in the goldwing line, however I do know of a Pacific Coast I believe to be the same body color. I'll be getting some pacific pearl mixed to keep on hand. Guess I'll see about the accent colour for touch u...

Re: Replacement "Cross-Pipe"
Most likely he's talking about the coolant crossover pipe that delivers coolant to the heads. They have seals and the seals can begin to leak, causing coolant to drip onto the top of the engine.

It runs on standard system power, so 12 volts (closer to 14 when engine is running).

Re: Premium or Regular
Yet I have not noticed any measurable difference using ethanol free on the Wing, especially since it is $1 more a gallon for ethanol free. Hmmm. You SHOULD be seeing another mile or so per gallon without corn juice. Ethanol has an octane of 115, but significantly less energy than gasoline. Most pla...

Re: Was out quading Sunday
That kind of cold can be deadly! Almost lost a friend and his daughter. His daughter went through the stream ice while sleding. By the time he got her and her sled to shore and raced at -30° to a near by ice fishing shack they saw with smoke out the chimney. All they're clothes were like your pants...

Re: Electric fuel pump conversion??
However for me I wanted the pump to fill the carbies with fuel before cranking the motor over. In my case the bike can sit for weeks without a running and the carbies dry out ( evaporation) here in a hot Australian climate. Since making this change the bike starts immediately with out cranking wait...

Re: Well I screwed up, 93 GL1500 is dead Jim!
What he said - if you did break a belt and punch a piston, it's far cheaper to just buy a replacement engine than it is to try to repair the one you have. The fact that it only had 25,000 miles on it is a really good indicator that it is a belt - they don't like sitting for long periods of time, and...
