Could also be a faulty bank angle sensor. Try jumpering it and see if it solves the problem. If so, then replace the bank angle sensor.

Re: Brake lines 83 gl1100
I am looking to buy new brake lines for a 1983 gl1100i. Has anyone recently had the three flexible brake lines replaced? If so where did you get the lines. Thanks Tim I replaced mine with braided stainless lines, and it was the single best upgrade I did to my 1100. The supplier I got mine from no l...

Re: Types A, B, and C GoldwingDocs 12V to 7V regulator
I have a 1977 GL1000 with a 1979 engine and possibly some other 1979 parts. Someone else was doing the restoration, so I don't know the year of all the parts. I have a 12V to 7V regulator from GoldwingDocs which my shop found online. Recently, on a ride of a little over 100 miles, all electrical we...

Re: Took a look at my brakes
Wow, not much left there. You REALLY don't want to let your pads get this low, if you start scraping metal onto your brake rotors, your wallet is going to hurt when you find out the price of replacement motorcycle rotors. Unlike car brake rotors, motorcycle rotors are expen$$$$ive!

Re: NO NEUTRAL LIGHT WONT START
Cycle the reverse lever a few times to get the neutral light back on. You, Sir, are a complete champion. This just happened to me after washing it, I thought I blew a fuse, cycled the lever ONCE I and she roared into life :) Thank you :) Start planning to replace your reverse switch - this switch d...

Re: Hello my fellow Goldwingers!!!
Welcome, sounds like you have a great project ahead of you. I loved the Pacific Coast, and you'll find quite a few similar parts and systems between it and the Goldwing (although there are many more similarities and parts between the PC800 and GL1500). Glad to hear you're changing the belts, that on...

FIXED --- guess I should not rely on "visual" inspection. Went thru process of elimination using a multi-meter, was the fuse after all. Learnt something today. #1 lesson learned about fuses! :) Yes, a fuse can look obviously blown: electronicdesign_com_sites_electronicdesign.com_files_Fig...

Re: GL1500 Auxiliary Shifter Pivot
Hi, can you give a hint where I should buy the gear shifter pivot? There are really many of them in the ebay, all from China. They are quite cheap. Then in the CycleMax there is also the pivot for sale, but it´s much more expensive. I quess it´s better quality material. Do you know any other places...

Re: Installing accessories on the handlebars
Be sure to replace the nylon spacers that Ram-Mount supplies with metal ones. Here we install custom made black ones instead. As time goes on, if you use the nylon ones, then continue to compress and eventually will cause the m/c to rock when being used. I had completely forgotten about that until ...

Re: Installing accessories on the handlebars
What I use is a reservoir-fastened RAM mount . You remove the two machine screws fastening either the left or right clutch or brake reservoir to the handlebar, and replace them with the machine screws supplied with this mount, fastening the mount in place at the same time. Then you can clamp any RAM...

Re: Voltmeter or Ammeter?
An ammeter certainly can be a nice piece of equipment. A direct current ammeter needs to be installed so that all current flows through it. A simplistic description is placing it in line between the battery and the battery cable. Since you want to see it from the riding position, you will need to m...

Re: Riding Glove Shopping
I used to go through a pair of summer gloves EVERY year. That is, until I tried out the Rev'It Sand 3 gloves. Best gloves I've ever had, they're now five years old and show only the slightest amount of wear. So comfortable that I wear them even when it's really too cold for them. They are discontinu...

Re: Handlebars hitting windshield
It depends on the windshield. With my Tulsa Tall windshield, which is taller, wider and raked back more than OEM, the handlebars DO contact it at full lock in either direction - and that's with the handlebars correctly adjusted.

Re: Are onboard GPS units worth it?
That's totally outside the scope of this specific thread, but to briefly respond - no, CB's are worthless -unless - you are riding along with a group of other CB owners. As far as the general chit-chat of old, it no longer exists...unless you speak Spanish, that is. 8-) Maybe down there in Arizona,...

Re: Air shock cylinder scratches - is it done for?
If the scratches are deep, you can do a rehab using J-B Weld . You mix up the J-B Weld, and work it into the scratch as well as you can. Wait for it to cure, then use a fine abrasive like emery paper or 1500 grit sandpaper to polish back to the chrome again. This leaves the chrome shiny and clean, a...
