A picture is a picture. It's the help we all give each other that means the most. We laugh, and we hurt and cry for each other. and This site is one of if not the best for helping fellow motorcycle owner/riders.Everyone of us has helped another out in time of need, and prayed for them as well. Re: tried starting 84 with low battery won't start now

You can jump the starter it's self by hooking up a cable to the wire on the starter,"positive" and grounding to the frame or the starter housing. Leave the key off and be sure you are in neutral!! If the starter spins, its most likely good. Just trace the wiring back from their!

Re: '86 gl1200a running without fuel pump

If the fuel pump its self is bad, you can go to Advance auto parts and get a 1 to 2.5 lbs fuel pump for a Honda prelude. The run about $60 and have the fuel hook ups on the same side. It will fit where the old one is now.

Re: How much seafoam is too much?

I've seen seafoam take up to a couple of months to work. Just depends on how bad the are gummed up. You may have to clean them out. And I would also put some in the crank case.

I have an older goldwing fairing with the radio setp you have that mounts right too it. Radio and speakers and antena. When I packed it away it all worked. It also has the am tuning key with it. I believe it was the stock radio for it. PM me if interested.

Re: Won't Start

Before you change the stater.... CHECK all your connections!!!!! One bad connection can mess up your day! Also check for a voltage draw after you shut the key off! That can kill a battery. Its true that a bad starter will act up after it gets hot, but so will connections if they are lose or have tha...

Those do not look like Ca. carbs. They look like 49 state carbs like off my 84 gl1200. Where is the vac line that runs to the intake tube?

Re: parts from online a good or bad idea?

I have bought off EBay for years. For the most part it is ok. I really have had only 1 or 2 problems with what I have bought. I really depends on what you want to buy on where you would get it. If its a engine or engine parts, read their feed back very closely and their return & warrenty polices :!:...

Re: RADIO 84gl1200a

I ran wires straight to the speakers as mine didnt have the radio when I got it. I don't believe there is a harness to mate the two together. With time I could make something up, but I would have to have the system here. I would also have to look at the wireing diagram to see what wires is what.

I have one on my 84 gl1200I. It sticks out a little but works fine. You will need a spacer of about 2 inches as the radio will hit the back.

Poor Boy System

Well I now have my other 1200 in the basement and I think this winter I will fab up a poor boy kit of my own. This is the perfect time to match up pullies and fab the brackets. I have an Alt. shop right down the street that has pullies all over the wall.... I talked to them last summer about it and ...

Re: Why pick on GoldWingDocs?

In a way, this is funny. We can't download it here for free, but we can go to the library and get the book for free if they have it. I wish they were all back on here again, because myself and others could use and need them. I have the clymer book and it is ok, but very vage. The wiring diag. sucks ...

Well I certainly pay more than 78.00, but your right no where close to 1100.00. I know the policy itself was pretty darn cheap except for the Med Pay. Now that I have had my very first accident. I am sure they will jack up the rates on renewal or cancel me out right. Maybe not though I do have 2 ca...

Re: 1983 GL1100a Engine whine

I have to say, my 84 gl1200I makes the same noise, but not as loud. You can hear the pitch change as you go down the road and shift. As I said, it's not that loud so I haven't worried about it. The outside temp seems to make a diff on wether it makes a noise or not. Some days last summer I didn't he...

I guess they don't bother to check the internet. Anyone can push the keys and bring up anything :P I think it's just their way of saying, we don't want to pay for it :!: Call your local Honda shop and see if they say the same thing... I'm going to call mine this weekend.
