Replaceing Fuse Box on 82 wing

I am not sure but I think I saw an article on replacing the old glass fuses with the newer blade style fuses but I cannot seem to find the post. Can some one point me in the right direction please. I read the DIY's 2x and didn't see it so hopefully it is not there LOL.

Re: 81 GL1100 Electrical Issues - No Dash Lights

The dash lights issue may not be related, check the fuses under the airbox in the false tank. I bet you have a bad fuse, prolly the 10 amp one.

Re: Gas Mileage?

my math sucks,

I get about 55KM per gallon or about 220km until I hit the res.

Seems bad to me but it is hard to figure Canadian gpm and then convert to litres per KM

LOL,
I figure it must be about 36-39 mpg. But I also have a bad muffler so I am not getting teh back pressure either.

Re: wanna go with a real tank need width measurement

Are you talking about putting a "tank" where the false tank is now and removing the existing tank?

That would seriously screw up the centre of balance, and on this heavy of a bike I am not sure that is wise. Further imo it adds nothing to the function or asthetics of the bike.

Re: removing brake pedal

When I had mine off, we put a small bend in it so the foot part sits higher. I have the floor boards and it was hard to push the brake pedal down hard enough sometimes. You have to raise your leg a bit higher to climb on top of the pedal so if you have hip issues or something you might not want to d...

Re: INSURANCE FOR 1983 GOLDWING

My bike plate is pro-rated... I get my plate renewal in January - but this is the frozen North - I don't get to ride until well into April or maybe even May this year... I'll have to pay around $50 for the plate when I get the sticker - it should be around $75-85 if I could ride right at renewal. I...

Re: how many miles?

I may be wrong but it seems to me that these are million mile bikes if used. It is the riding once in awhile stuff that kills them. Maintenence and love will keep these on the road for a very long time.

They are like women, well loved and well treated will cement their dedication.

It is fun to fantasize about what we could do if only we could get away with it. I have, in my callow youth, banged on the window of a car that was moving into my lane and crowding me into the line of parked cars. The result was the woman (Who was not on a cell phone because they were not invented ...

Re: how many miles?

I ended my engines life with 204k on it. Compression was down to about 55 psi on all 4 cylinders. BUt the problem with these bikes is that they are only 5 digit counters so it could be 104, 204 504 hell it could even be 1000104. Plus yoyu can disconnect the speedo cable and run 200k and then reconne...

Re: INSURANCE FOR 1983 GOLDWING

Here is what la learned with Dalton... Your bike needs to be 30 years old or more, that will put it in a Classic category. The bike needs to be appraised by a recommended Apprasisor from Dalton. You will get full coverage on the bike. You will be limited to riding 2500 km a year ... This will work ...

Please let me know what "the catch" is. Seems to me if someone is offering more for less there must be a catch. If there is no catch then next year on renewal I will also call them. I only drive mine for pleasure, but pleasure includes communting to work on those nice summer mornings.
