Re: GL1800 High Beam bulb change

This subject may have been addressed before,, but I couldn't find any reference to it, so here goes:- How does one replace the Left side High Beam bulb on a GL1800 Airbag model? The manual says "remove fairing pocket, unplug the wire and remove bulb" or words to that effect. Wing wiring.jpg See the...

Re: GL1800 2010 french user manual ?

Helminc is the company who distributes Honda manuals here in the states. They used to sell an Owner's Manual that came in 3 maybe 4 languages. Currently I don't see that as a choice. Has he tried ordering one from his local Honda dealer ??? Owner's Manuals are not very expensive ... $17 for USA. htt...

Re: Gl1800 windshield mechanism

The windshield on my 1800 raises up but will not go down. Is there a simple fix or do I need a new ratchet mechanism? Because the lever is not flipping probably means part #25 is now missing. When I do this repair, and it's been a while, I believe I replace part #25, 23, 25, and 26. I used to think...

Did you pull it all the way up to flip the lever over to allow it to go down. If in doubt, check the Owner's Manual.

Is there such a thing A Rear Brake Master Cylinder upgrade to help stopping when hauling a trailer?
None that I'm aware of. Be sure you are using both front and rear brakes and all pads should be OEM. When towing having a Wing with ABS can be a huge benefit.

What is the GVW of the trailer ???

I think your method for fault finding is correct. It might be better to just mail him another harness assembly, or credit him back his money, and move on to another customer. His issue may have everything to do with his particular audio-helmet setup, and nothing to do with your harness.

Re: Rake Kit - How do you know you have it

OK please enlighten me. What is a rake? How does it get changed? I need educated. On 5th gen GL1800s, a rake kit is an aftermarket triple tree that increases the fork angle an add'l 4.5-6.5 degrees. In almost all cases they are used on 3-wheeled Wings. If a rake kit is installed on a 2-whl, they ha...

An Owner's Manual gives information on operation, care, maintenance, and what to do in emergency situations. For anyone who does not have one, they can be ordered from www.helminc.com. They usually cost less than $20. The answers to probably more than 70% of the questions posted on forum web pages c...

"Dirty" also means that the inside of the engine is now dirty too. That can often be seen by pulling a valve cover or timing cap. On 5th gens, and as time passes and more miles and examples show up, it can be shown over and over again that the engineers really do know what they are talking about whe...

I know of 3 reverse trike kits available for 5th gen wings. The companies that make them are Motortrike, Hannigan, and Tilting Motor Works. Of those 3, I've only worked on and rode a Motortrike. If I recall, I liked the ride, but was really turned off by the wide turning radius.

Re: 1800 caliper pin grease

Honda recommends silicone grease for the o-ring at the end of the pad's pin, and for the slide pins under the boots.

Never lube the pin where the pads ride, it will only attract rode dirt and that can lead to interfere with brake operations.

Re: Turn off ABS light after trike conversion

So the question is - how to turn off the ABS light. If you paid to have your trike kit installed, the trike builder should have done it. There are a couple of ways to do it. For instructions, it is best to go to various trike kit web pages that offer instructions to install their kits. In the instr...

The fastener goes in from the under side. If you look into the fork tunnel area, there could be more missing. Part #28 in the fishe below. Usually those are referred to as plastic rivets.
