Re: Loose Trunk
Hi Experts!!!! I'd like to know if there is a reinforced substitute for 82310-MCA-A60ZA. This part keeps cracking over and over. It's nonsense how this heavy lid seats only in this tiny piece of plastic. Do you guys happen to know if there is a metallic version of this part? Thanks in advance for y...

Re: Loose Trunk
Hello, I just purchased a 2007 Goldwing. One issue this bike has is that the trunk is a little bit loose. The whole thing wobbles when you close the trunk lid. Any suggestions on how to tighten it up? The trunk box os held in place with 4 bolts inside the trunk. There heads are an 8mm, and they sit...

Re: Manual failure of reverse
I followed your suggestions as far as attaching the cables on the back of the engine which worked better however one cable seems again too short. I wondered when you activate the actuator which way does it rotate clockwise or counter clockwise? The n cable hooked up somewhat easily but the R cable ...

Re: cam chain tensioner
GoldWinergreg, can the lifter be removed with out the use of the special tool? I have only owned this bike for 4 months so don't know much history on it. It only has 32,000 miles so I wouldn't think the valves have been adjusted yet. On the left side, yes. A special tool is not needed to remove the...

Re: Manual failure of reverse
Once the cables are out of their packages, I'm not able to tell the cables apart. Let's cover some bacic routing info. The reverse cable, 'R', is the one that attaches to the lower position at the back of the engine. It attaches to the front position at the actuator. The nuetral cable, 'N', attaches...

18,196 are being recalled.
Here some interesting info from dragonbird's post. So ... reading between the lines, the harder a 6th gen is rode, meaning more stress from throttle on, throttle off, the more likely the bolt will stress and break. I wonder if for the ones who've had their bolt break, if they ride in sports mode mor...

Re: cam chain tensioner
Honda makes a special tool that unscrews the tensioner, that also holds it in place, while the valves are being adjusted. However, on the left side and because there is no space restrictions, many small screw drivers can used for reinstallation. As for your leak, it really unusual that yours is leak...

Re: Turn Signal Problem
Turns out the flasher was bad. Replaced it and now they work. The only problem is that pushing in the switch does not cancel the turn signal. I have to push it a bit to the opposite side. Is this a switch issue? Sorry I don't recall for sure, but your system might be associated to the spring inside...

Re: 6th gen GL1800 engine seizes, UBS bolt breaks
Great video, and thanks for posting. It actually sounds like a bolt rolling around in the engine. Be sure to hang onto your paper work from that repair. Since we don't know what the campain/recall will include, and if it includes that bolt too, often there is a form that can be filled out, and Honda...

Re: 6th gen GL1800 engine seizes, UBS bolt breaks
At least for me, I follow what Honda prints out. As stated in the Stop Sale notice, more info will be coming. But until then, there is nothing more to know. After working for manufactures like Honda, there is no reason to speculate on anything other than what their notices say. However, for many it ...

Has the old gas been removed and new gas put in ???
Can you make a video of the noise, post it on YouTube, and copy and paste the link here ??? FYI, in the video,if you cannot hear the noise, neither will anyone else.

Re: NO headlights (except in reverse)
Thanks guys. GoldwingrGreg. The headlights should shut off when the start button is pressed unless the reverse button is in. Apparently some states require the headlights to be on when the bike is in motion. Silly as it is, reverse is in motion. I’ll look for the connector on the right side. Thanks...

Re: NO headlights (except in reverse)
Sorry ... I don't have a Service Manual in front of me. But I thought that the low beams shut off when the start button is pushed in. As for the location of connectors. A Honda Service Manual has pictures of those in either in front of, or behind the index. Sometimes it is easiest to go to the index...

are both relays the same part number because i am looking at 35860-mca-a61 and 35850-mca-61? or does it matter? Starter relays 'A' and 'B' have different part numbers. Another way to get power to the starter is jumping power to the rear cable on starter relay 'B'. That cable goes directly to the st...
