Re: Antifreeze Leaking

For the rear shock, all seems normal can really mean a rider hasn't noticed the gradual degradation of the factory system. Sit on the bike, side stand up, engine running and starting at zero raise the rear suspension. If you do not feel a change in height almost immediately your system is not perfor...

As soon as I read about Scrantion PA I was reminded of the song by Harry Chapin "Thirty Thousand Pounds of Bananas". Cheers

I was thinking about that song while writing the post.

Re: Bike starts only if in neutral?

If you are having this problem, or a problem with the cruise control not setting, or cutting out, try this simple test. Grasp the end of the brake and or clutch lever and try moving it/them up and down. If there is play you probably need to replace the lever(s) or the pivot bushings inside.

Re: best tire that has long life and best ride

We ran E3s on our 2001 GL1800 before putting a Michelin Alpin high performance winter snow tire on the rear. It is a run flat. (Do you know Dunlop makes a run flat motorcycle tire but will only sell it to law enforcement agencies)? Then we put a Bridgestone Battlax BT-45, made for use on the back of...

Re: What Trailer can i really tow?

I used to tow a fully loaded four sleeper behind my 1984 GL1200 Aspencade. It was probably between 500-600 Lbs. This Wing towed the trailer cross country including mountain passes in Colorado without complaining. The only problem I had with it was one time when it was not properly loaded causing gre...

Big bucks for quality is to be expected. I only know of one aftermarket seat company that offers a money back comfort guarantee, Russell Cycle Products. My two published articles about the Day-Long Seat can be found here: https://billmcilrathmotorcyclephotojour ... -writings/

Yes they do, and the chrome will probably come off of those just as quickly as everything else they make. Also, I prefer the looks of the new ones better.

Greater Comfort Using Kuryakyn ERGO Boards & Pegs.

A new product is being offered that is a blessing to those of us with long legs. Highway Comfort Arms are only two inches long and move the pegs/boards out further to eliminate the problem with legs pressing against the sides of the fairings. The manufacturer sent a pair of prototypes for me to exam...

Re: SoCalMotoGear Sequential Dynamic LED Lighting.

i'm seriously thinking about these. Every time I look at a newer vehicle with white led daytime mlights I notice how distinct they are compared to others that run reduced headlights or something else, and I think the white led doesn't have to be very big to grab attention. I like the tri-function l...

Re: 1985 LTD Fuel Pump Replacement

You're welcome. Here is some information that may have come from Steve Sander's site. (I have no idea how much of this is still valid or available. Hope it helps. I owned a 1985 Limited Edition a few years back and just wanted to updated a few part issues with the fuel injection parts. I have worked...

Re: 1985 LTD Fuel Pump Replacement

I have the Spectra SP1186 which I will be installing when I get around to restoring my 85 Limited Edition. It is the replacement for the 1985 Honda Prelude and from what I've heard is a more direct replacement than the one you used. http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=3956853&cc=1169670&jsn=3...

SoCalMotoGear Sequential Dynamic LED Lighting.

The latest product for 1800 Goldwings has been released. "Moving" lights reminiscent of the turn signals on some old T-Birds and Cougars. Very eye catching! Re: LED Headlights from The Electrical Connection & LED Highbeams from SoCalMotoGear

HID bulbs are not properly focused for factory light housings. This is a major reason I'm happy to have made the switch to these LED lights which are designed to emulate the light pattern of the factory bulbs.

Re: Corbin GL1500 Master Saddle

I had a Corbin. It was hard and uncomfortable after several thousand miles. My wife absolutely hated the stupid points sticking out of the trunk rest. I shipped that back to them and they replaced it with one sans points and with a straighter posture. The replacement was the wrong color even though ...

If a deal looks too good to be true..... That said, if you are looking for a good deal on a product make sure what you are buying comes from an authorized retailer, or directly from the manufacturer of that product or you may end up spending $50 for a $100 product only to end up with $10 worth of cr...

The box in this EBay listing is identical (down to the detailed schematic-like drawing on the cover) as the box shown in this YouTube unboxing of the equivalent lights from Electrical Connection. The actual lights and drivers also appear to be virtually identical (other than possibly some EC sticke...

What you are seeing in the photo posted in my article shows one side of one headlight and a profile of the other. What is difficult to see in the profile shot is one side of the bulb, the bottom when installed (I believe). The top side has two rows of emitters, one for low and the other for high. Yo...

They do, indeed! These days, it's almost impossible to buy a domestic product without at least parts of it (or, all of it) coming from China. The edges of "desirability based on place of origin" are becoming blurred, indeed. Buying domestically is now, IMHO, primarily for advantages of warranty iss...

The only reason for my having used both products is they became available for evaluation around the same time. Both do a great job and I can appreciate your desire not to modify the boots.
