Before you go too far, hook up a simple test probe(lamp) to the pump circuit(pump disconnected).if it lights up while cranking, the relay modification would operate as well.

Re: GL1500 volt meter in Dash installation
Yes.Be aware that the reading may not be exactly the same as at the battery.Mine shows about 0.2 volts less. Then there's the accuracy of the meter.I hooked mine up and compared it to a DVM at the battery.Mine shows 13.8 at high idle and the battery showed 14.1. As long as I know.I mainly watch it to...

Re: All them wires
I removed the large bulky, hard to hide wiring from my switches and replaced them with #28 gauge wire (usually a multi conductor)that operate common relays.I hook the big wires to the relays hidden under the pocket.

Re: 1200 A no power at switch
I suppose you could split the harness till you find the break..you could also simply bypass it.Cut it off at each plug(to kill power on the good part) and insert a #12 or #10 wire in its place temporary to test then lace it with the original harness. Either way you do have to remove stuff to get at ...

Re: 1200 A no power at switch
Confirmed. All the 1200's use the solid red wire from the solenoid directly to the ignition switch. Keep in mind,If you have a corroded/loose connection at the solenoid,it may indeed provide enough continuity to light up a test light or operate a volt meter.....that is untill there is a significant l...

Re: 1200 A no power at switch
There are 2 red wires on the starter solenoid. Both should have power on them.Stab the insulation with a probe to test. One feeds the ignition switch and the other feeds from the regulator.

Re: Constant flashing tail lights
I have a 88.There are no fault code indicator's on this bike.look under the left pocket, around the fuse box.Suspect any small box with non oem color code wiring especially if the box is wire tied or the wires are "T" tapped into the bikes harness.Take pictures and post them for confirmation.

Iffin I was a betting man,I suspect a aftermarket alarm system. The marker light circuit had nothing that would do that.

Re: Left turn signal only comes on when forks are turned left
I'd try to get the handlebars positioned where it just about works then (with the ignition switch cover off) gently move the wiring harness at the triple tree.I suspect something in this area has a bad electrical connection. Possibly the connection that's in the center.I think the turn signal cancel...

Re: Starter problem
Been there.Starter sprag clutch sticking.
Lots to read about that.
Sea Foam oil treatment then a push start usually takes care of it.
When mine quit cranking,if I bumped the start button several times, once in a while it would grab and crank the engine.

The 88/89 are different than the 90 and up.There are some electrical changes.
What problem are you having and verify for us the year.

Re: Hydraulic clutch not engaging
If your clutch lever feels like it's working but the clutch isn't releasing I'd suggest it's due to clutch plate "stiction". Some methods to free them... Start the engine (in neutral) and warm it up while holding the clutch lever in. Center stand the bike and start it in gear with the clut...

Re: SHOUT OUT TO FELLOW WINGERS OUT THERE !! LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS A EURO WING WITH THE EXTRA LIGHT SWITCH ON
If all you want to do is turn off the head lights...... Verify that the switch (the removable one on the bottom of the cluster) is a 2 wire on/off switch.. Remove the plastic trim under the left handle bar and separate the individual cables. One of them has a couple of wires in it.Simply cut the blue...

Re: Time for a 3D printer?
I did not make that adapter cover. That was injected molded by another person. It was a mold not a printed part. I did not make one.Its size is larger than my printer capability. My personal 3D printer is just 8x8x8. Now it's possible that a "insert" bezel could be designed to fit in place ...

Same problem different history.
Start with the basics.
Pulse coils plugged back into the harness?
Voltage across the ECM module wires?
Sidestand wires hooked back up?

Not so much the coils but the drains. The plug boots may be carbon tracked.

I understand. The symptoms can lead you to different areas.Take heart tho.65k miles???It's barely broke in..The rest is a result of 21years.
If you can't get a positive confirmation of the problems, you could "price reduce" it for the worst case scenario.
