Re: 2008 Goldwing trailer tie down advice?

Yup... looks like the link goes to the site, but is then rerouted. It has been hijacked. It is not ding dong's fault. Web pages get hijacked all the time. Anyone reading this, please do not navigate to that linked site.

Are the pegs you are looking for anywhere in this display? https://www.kuryakyn.com/products/4024/engine-guard-or-frame-mount-footpegs If so, and they only go on 1 1/4 inch bars, you may have to buy the extra parts to make them work. I had to do this to get what I wanted with Kuryakyn's Ergo II syst...

Re: Dyna Beads VS Ride on Tire balancing

Does not Ride On mess with TPMS? If so, why would anyone put it in a tire with a TPMS sending unit? If the tire does not have TPMS, then by all means, I would use it. In the mean time, I use either Dyna Beads or Counteract beads. Just read in another thread that the Balance disks (whatever they are ...

Re: 08 trunk wiring schematic

According to our most accomplished Goldwing mechanic, Greg, you should buy a new subharness and just replace the one that is cut. If it was one or two wires, I would say repair them, but if most of the bundle is cut, I agree with Greg. I had a problem with the right side harness, and only one wire w...

Re: Floor boards

I am Surprised at how ergonomically incorrect this wing is... seems I'm not alone on that. Japanese engineers cannot fathom the size of other races of people. They make Goldwings for their size people, with the bike at the absolute bottom of it's adjustments. For most of us, this means highway pegs...

Re: Carrier on motorhome for Goldwing?

I know folks who have done this, but I do not know if the carriers are prefab or had to be cobbled to support the weight of a Goldwing. I do know the motorhome must be Class A and large, I think diesel pusher. If it was me, I would haul a cargo trailer behind with the bike inside, but it ain't me so...

Re: tire pressure sensors

Depending on what pressure you have your tires at, the colder temps may be lowering this pressure to just below the point where it triggers your sensor flashing. When the tires warm up, and the pressure goes up above that point, the flashing stops. You might add a couple of pounds to your tires. I k...

Re: Tires

I just put a set of Michelin Commanders on my O8 a few hundred miles ago. So far I really like them. I have read on several sites that they get way better mileage. Handling is about same as the Dunlops I replaced but smoother. Please keep us updated, as I would love to run Michelin tires. I ran the...

This is for Viking The sidecar you see in the picture has a car tire on the back and rear tire front. Re: Night riding windshield glare

No glare at night... Been about five years since I could say that. I whole heartedly recommend the Novus French Polishing System for motorcycle windshields... Now if I could find something that repels bugs at night, I would be totally ecstatic. No? Yeah, I thought not. Well, now I get to see if the ...

Re: Update GPS

Okay, Update on using the map image from http://www.raumbezug.eu/osm-garmin.htm. The maps seemed to know where the roads are, but all of the forested area was reproduced as little green bushy items (trees I guess) which totally obsured the map most of the time. It looked like a Satellite image had b...

Re: Update GPS

Henry, my experience with buying Garmin's CNANT updates is that the brand new ones are still pretty much two years out of date when they come out. Mapping in past years was done by a company called (I think) Nexstar, who then sold the maps to Garmin/Magellan/Tom-Tom etc. Nexstar also made their own ...

Re: Night riding windshield glare solved with NOVUS

Well, after the discussion here, I sent off to my friendly neighborhood Amazon man, for the NOVUS 1, 2, 3 french poly polishing kit. Before trusting it to my precious Goldwing windshield, I tried it out on my old winter car's headlights. Man, I had tried the toothpaste trick and all other stuff with...

Re: Insta Motorcycle Tow by BillyBob1

I see this has been resurrected, so I read it through again, and the thought came to me that towing a Harley with the rear wheel on the ground is not such a good idea either, although not as expensive a repair as a Goldwing. Harleys have a rear belt drive and the belts are about $160. They are desig...

Re: Dunlop Elite 4's

I for one have no idea how those who are getting 16K plus miles on your tires are doing it. It must be that you have much much smoother roads where you live. I am really happy if I get 12K miles and I do not normally ever get that. I do aggressively ride twisties whenever I get the chance, but that ...

Re: Help with horn 2008 Wing

Seeing as how you are interested in mounting one on a V-Max, you might take a look at the way Harley mounts theirs on similar looking bikes. Also, if you have difficulty finding a Goldwing horn, Harley horns are also more car sounding. They can be purchased in painted or chromed from just about ever...

If it works anything like the previous models (2001 to 2010) then yes, pretty much to all of your questions. You will need to adjust it so that it operates in accordance with your wishes. The squelch controls where it cuts out noise and distant chatter, etc, which can all cut your other audio out. Y...

Re: Help broken down at Gran Coulee Dam Washington

I would not bother with the local shop. Get it towed to a Honda dealership. If that is Spokane, okay, but they probably have a chance of figuring out what is wrong. You say you cannot find a motel or hotel for the next nights so moving is necessary anyway. Just before you do, however, check that you...
