Re: Dreaded ADG tick?? Please say no.
I have a 2009, bought brand new in October 2010, with no miles on the clock. I have had a small tick, audible from the right side of the bike since new. I have been told by numerous others that they have a similar tick. Perhaps that is what you have. With 109 K on the clock now, it has not gotten lo...

Way back in the day, I guess we call them the Dot Com days, I wrote code. I remember those days, as I coded up a dot.com and made a bit of money from it when I sold it to an entity that wanted what I had coded up. I, being a summertime biker dude, only coded in the winter, when my bike was up on blo...

Re: Highway peg extension
As Andy mentioned, they make shorter arms, but it looks like you already have the six inch ones and they are the longest. You can, by your pictures, get about another inch out of the clamps, and maybe rotate the six inch arms further forward, then the boards back towards you, but you need to take ca...

I would think it easier to widen the doors or put double doors in as opposed to hiring a crane to do this more than once.Goldwinger15 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 14, 2022 5:01 pm Ah well, I don't have an urgent need to get it out through my house and if it came to it, one could always get a crane to lift it over the house. Re: The End of the CF Carded GPS NAVI Saga
I just purchased a 2006 Goldwing in Canada and brought it to Phoenix for the winter, the Nav I find does not have a CF card in it so it doesn’t work. Garmin tells me I need to have a CDN card or it won’t work in my bike, can you help me with this please? I can tell you what you need to do, but I am...

Hi Scott. I feel your pain. Here in Ontario, and you are well acquainted with this province, the cell phone use in cars is almost as bad as it is in Ohio. At least in the south it is. For the last two years, during the pandemic I have been circumnavigating Lake Nippissing, which is about 300 kms, so...

Re: 2016 GL1800 Occasionally just won't start..
It sounds more like a weak battery or bad battery connection. I think Andy is right on with this. A 2016 is right on the edge of needing a new battery. Some folks if lucky, get as many as six years out of a battery, but others get no more than three or four. One thing that could help (maybe) is a r...

Re: CENTRAMATIC STAINLESS WHEEL BALANCERS
Centramatics will keep your wheels balanced as well or maybe a bit better than Dyna or other bead systems. They are worth having, but not worth the price when you are only paying $20 a pop for your beads. I used these many MANY years ago, when they were sold by Amsoil (mid 1970s I believe) and they ...

...but know that a '06 - '17 bike with a GPS *also* has ABS brakes as standard. I was not even thinking of that, but it would definitely have been a consideration. I bought my bike new in October of 2010, and got almost $10 K off the MSRP for taking a 2009, still in a crate. What I did not get was ...

Yeah I like Waze too. Have you tried the motorcycle vehicle so it routes you on roads more interesting for bikes? More interesting for bikes in whose opinion? I just love those words - likely from a manufacturer or software designer who has no interest in motorcycles whatever. I use a Garmin Dezl t...

Re: Are onboard GPS units worth it?
I have an onboard by Garmin for Honda on my 2009. I have had pretty much every sort of GPS that can be had over the years, for on road, off road, wilderness and marine use, from the three main manufacturers, Garmin, Magellan and Tom Tom. I also used the Magellan laptop sized GPS units when I was in ...

Re: Rear Seat Travel Bag options
What is your 12" bag make or model? I cannot tell you. It is likely a Show Chrome or Big Bike product. I pulled it out and looked it over pretty well, but could not find a name on it anywhere. It was also not as expensive as the Kuryakyn one that I mentioned. Under a hundred bucks IIRC, I have...

Re: Rear Seat Travel Bag options
I have the Ultimate seat on my bike, and found that a soft sided back rack bag fits nicely in the passenger slot with the two extensions just allowing the back rest to nestle in between them. I do not even have to lash it down, although I do, to keep someone from just walking off with it. The Kuryak...

Gorgeous color. Can't help with the CB but some advice might be in order due to what I have read here. Did you change the timing belts? If not, better do so. The bike sat for ten years, them belts gonna be a tad dry.

Re: Seat tear at seam on OEM Seat
My first thought was to try and sew it back together since it's the original leather seat. And it's right on the right-hand side of the main driver seat, so I'd rather not use a patch. Well, if you take the cover off the seat, and sew a patch in from the inside, then put the cover back on the seat,...

Thanks that makes sense, and it backups fine with no clicking nor grinding, the part that I left out is, I have a slight steep hill roughly 30 feet that I back my bike up my driveway into my garage and I read an article that states you should not put that much stress on the bike in reverse mode so ...

I know of no way to do this. Did you intend to just try a patch cord from the stereo jack to a usb and then plug the flash drive into this? If this works, it will be a real bonus to all of us who have the same systems, but I do not believe it will work. The majority of us who are playing music have ...

You can purchase brand new aftermarket chrome mirrors - both sides as a set - for considerably less than the Mother Honda OEM mirrors. Just saying. They look fine with all the other chrome on the bikes I see, and they work fine. https://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Mirrors-Goldwing-2013-2017-Motorbike/...

Same here, never really had a bug get through the vent, but I'll bet a cicada at 70 mph could make a mess? Or a big fat bumble bee. :? I have had that happen a couple times. Re: Trunk removal/delete kit for a 2007 GL1800?
They did used to make a kit for trunk delete on these bikes, but when the F6B came out I guess the demand for them dried up. AFAIK, they are no longer made and any used kit will probably be missing parts.
