Re: Seating options for larger riders
Stock seats suck anyways so get an aftermarket that moves you back and preferably one with a built-in backrest. You also need hyway pegs/boards and lastly handlebars risers.Lots of choices for each of these available.

Re: Suspension "upgrade"?
The suspension was weak when it came out of the factory.Whatever you decide go with the heaviest spring(I think the Progressive is 1200 lb.).I just went with the stock spring with a brand new 2013 rear shock/spring ass. and now wish I had gone with the heavier.I think the stock 2013 spring was eithe...

Re: Auto Tire on the Rear, GL1800
I am looking at a a cheap Walmart winter tire 195 65r16. It has what looks like a more rounded tread profile. Will the tire fit? It has a 400 tread depth. Anyone that is looking at CT's please, please don't post on the forums that you're looking at or running a $49.95 tire on your Wing. That just fee...

Re: 1800 suspension
As far as the rear I wouldn't go in and just change out the spring. In fact I would go in and install a 2012 and up shock even with the stock spring.Better rebound dampening in the newer shocks. That's where the better ride comes in,not from the stronger spring. The stronger spring will stop the botto...

Re: Specialty tool for Swingarm nut
Mark the swing arm bolt to make sure it doesn't move when you torque the lock nut. It'll change your preload(make it higher) if it moves. The factory tool holds the bolt while you torque the lock nut.The preload is more important than the lock nut torque. You had the right idea with your original desig...

Re: Progressive suspension upgrades
The stainless hose is not necessary, just make sure the system is full.Did a lot of reading on this before I did any mods on mine. The heavier rear spring is definitely a must.My pump was starting at approx 7 before I upgraded and filled the pump/shock ass. and now it starts right away(0-1).It hasn't ...

Re: We're too big for two up!
My wife and I took a little ride on our 86 Aspy over the weekend. It was fun, but I noticed the rear suspension didn't like us riding two-up. It seems the compressor fills the shocks up just fine, and they seem to hold air just fine, but I think we're just too much for them. Sooo.... I am looking a...

Re: older style wet cell battery
The OEM batteries in Wing's have been AGM's for years. The extra CCA is what the 1500 works better with.Had a 1500 for 5 years and I gotta tell you the difference in the rpm that the AGM turned it over at seemed like it was double what the lead/acid did.No more lead/acid for me.Both my atv's have th...

Re: older style wet cell battery
The 1500 loves a good battery for starting and the AGM's are about 60 CCA's more than your lead/acid.For that reason I would say use your lead/acid for your fish finder or lawn mower etc and go buy an AGM for next spring.Your starter will thank you. Although I am not against an AGM battery, I can't...

Re: Uncomfortable riding position
IMHO you need a seat that moves you back and has a Utopia style backrest.Next is some sort of hyway pegs/boards.The other thing is the bars usually need to be moved. You can get spacers/shims to move them($80) or you can get the really over priced(IMHO) Heli-bars($800) . Once you get that all sorted ...

Re: How to mount Garmin Zumo 660
I mounted mine on the dash directly in front of me. I don't have to look away from the road just slite eye movement down to see the screen. The cords that came with the bike mount I put behind the meter panel shelter to the left fairing pocket. Worked out great. I mounted mine on the dash as well f...

Re: wanted: 2015 stock seat for Goldwing. Sale or trade for my Corbin
Have you given the Corbin a real good chance to show it's benefits or does it just not fit you?IMHO if it fits you're making a big mistake trading it off.Nothing worse than a stock seat after a couple of hours.

Welcome!
Did it shift before you flushed and bled it?
Most bikes once they're moving you can shift them pretty easily even without using the clutch.

Have you made a decision on how to repair your bike? Since you are in Florida I think I would contact justwings, I looked at their site and they know exactly what needs to be done. You might also consider pulling the engine yourself and see if they will repair it out of the bike, would save quite a...

Re: TRANSMISSION WOES
Blaming the heel toe shifter for these issues is typical dealer not knowing what to do. Since Honda had never officially said there is an issue with syncro drum engagement the dealer is pretty much on their own. If the aftermarket shifter was even remotely to blame then evertime they sold a floorbo...

Re: Rear Preload Settings
Being an 07 along with what PastoT says you probably need at least new springs.Even with low mileage. They were weak right from new.My 04 had approx 35 k on it and the springs were not good.
