Hand crank the engine to see what noises you get. Crank it from the rear of the engine. That will give you an idea of damage.

Good Luck.

Find 2 nuts and put them on. The last nut on tighten it against the first nut. Try to loosen the bolt using the first nut on.

I get a lot of my parts from the AUTO Honda dealer. They are the same numbers and a lot cheaper than Mother Honda's at the bike shop

Re: Bad starter, maybe?

I had the no neutral light problem. There is a diode hidden IN the honda wiring. It is buried under the black tape by your left knee. Mine was at the second branch of wires.

Glad you got it resolved.

Re: How to rebuild your rear master cylinder

After you get the leaks stopped, and they still feel spongy. Tie the brake pedal down overnight and bubbles can go to the top.
In a year or so -- you will forget all about this problem.

When you put the false tank back on leave the 2 front bolts off. Mine have been off for 20 years. Same with the 2 back bolts on the seat.

Re: poor boy conversion

It is not that tough to cut the hole. I have not seen any one selling the cvrs with the hole. Cheaper to buy a bit to cut the hole than to spend money on shipping the cvr.

Re: GL1100 radiator/ cooling issues

Since the bike had been sitting for a while the smoke off the rad is probably dust and everything else that had landed on it. My temp gauge hardly moves on my bike. Does your reserve stay at full level? If it does you probably have no problem. Let the bike running just sit and see if the fan comes o...

By the time it takes to rust that pin. The joint will need to be cleaned again.

Sounds like you are making progress.

You will not use the weight. It is to counter weigh the fairing.
The plugs should be plug and play.

Re: Timing belt replacement

Crash bars do not need to be removed but they do need to be loose so you can get the cover out.
Engine does not need to be removed. Put the date and mileage on the inside of the cover so one knows when the belts were changed.
