Re: Engine temp issues after pump replacement

You do not need to be sorry for the details. It helps all of us to try and help you. With the new pump your engine is probably running more efficient and the meter is showing this. Put some white talcum powder over the area you think the leaks is coming from after the engine is hot. Leave it overnig...

Re: Rebuilding my 81 gl1100.

If I was to replace the engine again for my 83-I. I would replace with an 80 engine.Better torque and power with the 80 engine.

80 or 83 engines are plug and play. The hardest part of engine removal is that damn cir clip on the drive shaft.

Re: Rebuilding my 81 gl1100.

My engine had a bad knock and finally gave up the ghost. I got a very good engine from a salvage yard in Wisc for $600. Get a used engine and if you want dig into this engine and get it fixed then sell it. Getting a different engine will allow you to ride in a week or two. It will take you a while t...

Re: Convert to a Naked 1100

I do not believe the 1000 and 1100 are interchangeable. The ears are probably the hardest part to find for an 1100. Take pics on your progress. While you are looking for parts--get the part number and then check the auto Honda for stuff. Moly grease, oil, anti freeze,...Same parts for cars and bikes...

Re: ignition lock/luggage lock

On all the locks there is a code.

The hardest part in taking it to a locksmith is they do not have the blank key.

Here is a link to a cheaper way to get the key you need.

Re: How to remove and reinstall your rear wheel

When I am looking for Honda parts, grease, and things for the bike, I routinely check the Honda car dealer for parts etc.. They have some of the things that go both on cars and bikes with the same part #'s and usually cheaper.

When I needed to replace my valves I bought another head off e-bay and used them. New ones cost a bundle.

search these #s on google to find new ones.

Grease tends to fling off. It also turns liquid when it gets hot. Moly will not do either.

I apply Moly on all surfaces
