Re: trike a 1500

I have been ill, but I have purchased "Legs Up" which are fitted so that at slow speeds two extra small wheels come down to assist the balance. Just saying.

Re: Insurance

We in Oz have two types of main insurance, 3rd Party and Comprehensive. Third party is compulsory for all vehicles, and covers personal only damage, but not the other vehicle. There are lesser types of insurance, like "fire and theft" - nothing else, and 3rd party vehicle damage - nothing else. If ...

Re: State Motorcycle Laws

In the State where I am from, we are pretty well regulated. For a start "learner riders" (ie those that have only a Learner permit), they have to sit a theory exam before they can get the L plates. The L plates have a specification for their size and colour and where they are to be displayed. After...

Re: Painted or Vinyl Wrapped?

I would paint it ! Like the man says, even if it is garaged it will last 7 years. How long does the paint last? Mine is 21 years young and it still does not need re-painting.

That vinyl fades and looks tatty when it ages.

Re: 94 GL1500A fuel filter replacement

There is a stainless steel one from Randak's (sp), that lasts as long as the bike, as it is user cleanable. Make sure when you are servicing your bike to include the fuel filter as well as some of the other filters.

Re: GL1800 LARGE Dog Pet Carrier?

I have four Basenjis, I hesitate to take them in the car, let alone the GW. They each weight about 9 to 14 Kgs, quite a juggling trip when they get the fidgets, or see something they want to chase.

Re: 1976 Honda GL1000

I know that my brother has a wreck of one sitting in his shed in Darwin, if you and he are interested. He came off near Tennant Creek and badly broke his arm. I will talk to him if you want. It was a bit rusty and although covered in the shed, it still had lots of tropical spiders on it, when last ...

Re: 20% Chance of Rain

I never can understand that 20% rain thing. We have it here as well, but I notice that they rarely sit on the fence and say 50%, it is 20%, 30%, 60%, 90%, and rarely 100%. It seems to have mind of its own, as others have mentioned, and any sign of rain in the forecast is not good enough for me to g...

Re: Air Shock Question

That means that Autumn/Fall is coming for you guys. Our winters where I am are not too bad. We have had some frosts, but no white stuff that you have to shovel (ha, ha). The temps are relatively warm, like London's summer temps, so even in Winter we can get out for a ride. How did you go with those...

Re: Fully Electric / Hybrid Goldwing

For those living in/near a major city, they sound okay. But for folk that live in the country of Oz, the distances are too great to have the downs of electric thrust upon us because of distance. There is one highway I have travelled, which is 600 Km between fuel stops. For that matter, it is void o...

Re: Anyone install a portable CB on an Aspencade that didn't come with one?

In Oz, we use FM based in the 470Mhz band for CB. This goes beyond the designers of Honda, so the radio is stacked behind the passenger seat and in front of the carry pannier at the back. It is hooker up to the LH switch on the handlebar, so that I can up/down the channel, volume, squelch, and on/o...

The battery sitting on the back seat and then returning it is a wonderful idea. Too bad we do not have Wally world here. But the idea is still good.

Use whatever colour you like! As long as the label says it is Silicate free you should be right. There are pink, green, and blue out there so the colour is dependent on the manufacturer.

The lifetime map updates that they advertise actually mean "as long as they (the Supplier (Garmin for example)) want to support the item, and then it becomes more difficult. Just a heads up.

Why is it that the 10mm wrench is the one that always goes for a wander? All through this posting it is always the 10mm that goes walkabout.
