Re: bike lift

Use to have a uplift bike jack until house fire. Worked great on my 1500/1800. triing to find another jack but no luck for uplift. Any solid suggestions? :?: I have not heard of uplift before now. Re: Pressurized Gas Tank

thanks GoldWingrGreg, the tanks was half full when this happened, when I filled the tank after the incident I filled to the neck to see if fuel will come up to the top of the neck but didn't. so I assumed the vent its clear. I have the 2010 manual from my previous bike. I assume its same as 2016. i...

Re: Noise from the driveshaft?

To get it back in, pull the boot back off the motor to access the output shaft splines(lube the splines with Moly Paste) and slide the driveshaft on. You may need to put a long screwdriver in to lift the u-joint up through the boot to align the shaft angle to the output shaft. Check your boot too fo...

Re: Noise from the driveshaft?

Remove the final drive and the whole driveshaft pulls out the back with the u-joint. I had to replace my driveshaft at 85,000 miles from a failed u-joint. FYI, if you need a driveshaft, get one from a 2001-2005 as the 2006-2017 are longer length than yours is. The good thing is there are lots availa...

Re: What seat do I have?

How about pictures??? You have a rare accessory seat. I threw away a Road sofa seat a week ago that was weather destroyed(cover and foam gone from sun damage, the valve also leaked). I saved the rider backrest as the cover was good and the valve still works. It is in my storage unit and I can't get ...

Re: trailer hitch for 94 gl 1500 with CSC Trike

OK, CSC said that because I have a straight axle CSC trike, the hitch is obsolete? I know that they are out there, somewhere? The problem is finding someone with one that fits your trike kit as the hitch is specific to the kit. There may be one setting on an trike that has been parked for a long ti...

It depends on how old your post is.
After a certain time the option to edit is removed and if you want to change something you have to post it in a reply. Just the way this forum was set up by Wingadmin.

Re: What is Cupping? Tire Recommendations.

Another point being ignored is the fact that what is going on at the back of the bike can also effect the front. Worn bearings, bushings, shocks, etc., can and do have a bearing on front end handling. Whether anyone agrees or not, since I went to ceramic beads for balancing my tires, I have not had...

Re: Just bought a junker

As to your busted speedometer, very common on the 1980-1982 85mph speedos as people would take them and burry the needle and boom goes the speedo. You can sometimes find a 150mph 1983 speedo, off a Standard or Interstate. (Do not try to put the digital speedo off the 1983 Aspencade GL1100. Too much ...

Re: Just bought a junker

Howdy and welcome to the forum. What you bought is what you.. Called it. From the picture, the tank(false tank) stripe, you bought a GL1100 Interstate that someone has removed the fairing, saddlebags and trunk and mounted headlight ears and bucket to make it naked. They also removed the front engine...

4.2 should be far too much. Did you run the motor a minute or 2 then let the oil settle before checking and on the centerstand??

Re: Front/Rear speaker wiring harness/fader problem

The aftermarket faders have been known to fail. Did you try to clean it with electrical contact cleaner? Have you called cyclemax to see what they have to say about it's failure? How long have you actually had it? The better fix would be to put an amp and equalizer in the trunk and new speaker wirin...

You double checked the fader is actually hooked up?
Is your fader molded into the dash key panel or drilled into the fairing somewhere?
