Re: 2013 GL1800 Level 3, Hesitation on COLD take off

I had that problem posting pictures a couple years ago. I don't think I changed any settings on my phone before or after. I'm trying a test now of a picture I took on my phone to see if it posts here now. Seems to be working. 01-16-2019 Wednesday Also, anybody??? I tried to post some pictures but er...

Re: all balls bearings steering kit

Tapered hands down. The stock type round ball bearings put a dent in the race in the straight ahead position(the only time you steer the bike away from the straight ahead position is at low speeds turning in parking lot situations). They don't put a track in the race. Just a dent and only in the str...

Re: Wiring for a trailerto pull with my 2009 Wing

Howdy Nitefuzz As to the hitch- My 08 had a Bushtec hitch on it along with their wire harness. The hitch has been great having put @90,000 towing miles on the wing in the past 5 1/2 yrs. Never had a problem with the hitch. It's well made and tows great. Wire harness- I had to replace the Bushtec wir...

Re: Help removing rear tire

Gl1800 yes. Gl1500 not a good plan. I, too have a trailer hitch, it bolts to the saddlebag frame but has clamps to the rear crash bars, too. Although I have a lift, next tire change I am going to try laying the bike on its right side and attempt it that way. Loosen the axle nut first then lay it dow...

Re: Which wing?

:o :o :o Yikes! You threaten it like that! The 97 should outlast you and is a great bike. The 1500s are known to go way past 500,000 miles if taken care of and loved upon. Thank you for your helpful responses. I have agreed to purchase the 97 SE. It runs well, everything appears tight and func...

Re: 2013 GL1800 Level 3, Hesitation on COLD take off

Have you reset the ECM? Be sure radiator is topped off(full of coolant at radiator cap- not just reservoir). Disconnect the negative battery cable for 10 minutes when bike is cold, overnight. Bike on centerstand. Hook back up and start, do not touch throttle or anything else, let run to warm up, fan...

Re: Reverse removal

Over the past 10 years I've been on goldwing forums, there have been only a couple of threads of people wanting to do this with very little input as you are swimming in uncharted waters. The reverse safety switches are tied into the ecm that you will have to bypass. There are very limited few that m...

Re: 1997 GL1500A Clock Iin CPU Display screen

CaptKen What you have is moisture in the speedometer cluster connectors and or the speedometer printed circuit board has uncleaned traces. This was a common problem on the 97 in high ambient moisture areas. There were write ups on this on another forum I used to belong to. I had one I cleaned for a ...

Re: GL1100 Forks on a VW Trike question..

Hey Rob I just saw this and that you are in NH. I'm from Milford/Amherst, but I'm away for the winter, in San Diego. Should be back in the area by June. Bring your trike to Milford bike night at Union Coffee on South Street(Rt 13S) just off the Oval on Wednesday nights. Riders start showing up after...

Re: 94 Goldwing GL1500 Boggs down

The Vacuum slides could have just had some dust/dirt in the bore causing it to stick and moving it by hand freed it loose or the vacuum rubber on the end of the slide could have holes/cracks in it or the vacuum lines have holes in them(check the 90 degree bend under carb rubber on the left- see pict...

Re: Blackwing fork brace availability

It has 132k on it and I retorqued the head bearings about one k ago about the same time I took the rear apart to replace the d/shaft flex coupler (and a bunch of other work). I've only had the bike for a little over a year so I haven't put all of the miles on it myself. The problem is that the stee...

Re: Low Beams not working

When one goes out you don't notice, especially if riding in daylight. Once the second bulb burns out, that's when you say, hmmm both bulbs burned out??? The extra power to the second bulb, along with the cycled life expended(on off cycles), the 2nd bulb burns out very soon after the first burns out...

Re: Installing Inferno Heated grips 2008 GL 1800

Which level 08 do you have?

2006-2008 base level (level 1) didn't come with heated grips, heated seat, foot warmers. Level 2 and above had them from the factory. The dial switches for the heated grips and heated seat was on the key switch panel. Is this where your insert was??

Ya know Greg, I think you're right. I'm going to order the cable just to have it on hand when I get around to opening it back up. If by chance I am able to open the capsule without damaging it, I'll try to report back with some details. It'll be awhile though, busy time of year! Thanks, Jim Good id...

It's Not good to leave your post hanging as others read through posts later on to fix their problems.
