Re: Heated Grips on 2008 GL1800

Normally when the grips don't heat neither will the seats heat as they are both in series on the same system

Re: Loud gearbox

Recently acquired a gl 1200 aspencade I had never ridden a goldwing so have no comparison. I ride a 69 sportster and a 56 flh chopper. Honda’s transmission sounds very loud with high pitch whine under acceleration less on decell bike has 27k on it and runs fine ,it has fresh 20/50 motorcycle oil in...

Re: 83 GL1100A LCD quit working

Have you tightened the push in connectors yet? The round female connectors loosen up over the years and probably need a little crimping to tighten to the male pins.
You have a loosen connector somewhere from the intermittent working, not working you experienced.

Re: Prices

^ that's a ridiculous response. Maybe that's the most you'd pay, but, in good condition, it's worth way more than $1500, no matter where you live. I gave a price of what I've seen them go for. Higher are asked and those set on the market a long time, on the east coast and the west coast. Plus no pi...

Re: New Member - First Question 78 GL1000

Howdy and welcome to the forum. Did you test the Dyna S that it is operating properly? Depending on which version you have, there were some that had failure problems early on. I don't know to tell you how to test it. Did you get a repair manual for the bike? Have you looked at the How To section at ...

My Audi A8 was covered with less than an 1" of liquid from the spray bottle.
The paint is in excellent condition, so I'll guess this is less than a typical quantity.
I agree, the F11 does have a longevity issue.. pc
What size is that spray bottle?
How often does it need to be done??

Re: Arai Signet-X Helmet

No Snell lid has an internal visor. They won't even test any. Shoei made one where they expanded the shell for it but Snell would not test it. Also if you install speakers it is no longer Snell certified. That's just the way it is, no parts allowed inside. But that's not the question. Can I have th...

Re: Arai Signet-X Helmet

Scott, another question... Does this helmet have an internal sunscreen? I know Aria makes visors but the sunscreen is on the exterior of the clear screen. How do I or can I use the exterior sunscreen with the clear screen in the up position? Like on a hot Ohio summer day, I need the clear screen up...

I don't have a GL1500, but on the GL1800 you don't press the buttons at the same time.

You press one at a time - UP, or DOWN, or MEMORY-1 or MEMORY-2.
The 1800 is not an air compressor. Totally different systems.

Re: rust cleaning

Welcome to the forum Phidr Pulling the mufflers off to clean them is a good idea. You shouldn't need to immerse them. The Honda chrome is pretty good. If it's surface rust, I've found that the Turtle wax chrome cleaner and polish with elbo grease works. But you could use clr in small amounts then ne...

Re: Wind noise and buffeting

As to wind noise, the first review of your scorpion helmet is poor noise reduction.

Get an Arai to fit your noggin. Unlike most helmet makers, Arai makes different shape helmets for different shaped noggins. You can't fit a helmet very well online.

Here you can see the 2 piece Windbender on my 1800. It has their shortest recurve top shield(I'm a short 5'10"), in the lowest setting for summer riding. They offer taller top screens for taller riders as you are. I think Madstad offers taller top screens also. Hmm. Just searched the Madstad site, l...

According to the service manual the rotor bolts should be replaced After rotor removal and I may have over torqued them. The rotor bolts come with a special loctite already applied to the bolt. I bonded small nylon straps to the inner side of the pocket and to the inner side of the door. That way if the door was to ever come off, it doesn't depart the bike.
Great idea
