Re: Turn off ABS light after trike conversion

Will this work? I got it from another thread.

If you remove all three ABS fuses, the indicator should go dead. There's two 30A fuses for the motors and one 5A fuse for the control box.

Re: Removing Multi Display connector

I used a screwdriver to unclip the tab on the connector. After a couple of times of doing that and it being quite the bear, I broke that tab off the connector. It still connects great and a little easier to disconnect.

Re: Valve adjustment necessary at 51000 miles?

I checked mine last week and they are all in tolerance with 71k miles. Now I have a baseline also. I'll check again in 2 years and see if it has changed. That will be another 30k miles later. It was not a hard job at all. I did replace the valve cover gaskets too.

Re: Valve adjustment necessary at 51000 miles?

Bike needs to go in for oil change and air filter, dealer wants to do valve check,I know its not cheap.Just wondering if its worth it.Bike runs fine.Thanks. You could do it for the peace of mind and it's likely that if its running fine there will be no adjustment. My 07 has 71k miles and I'm going t...

Re: THIS MAY SOLVE YOUR Intermittent Engine not starting

I cleaned those 2 bolts yesterday, retapped the holes and ran a die over the bolt threads and wire brushed the bolt threads also. They definitely where covered with factory sealant. Good job and thank you.

Re: Front brakes

Just like newday777 asked, it depends on your capabilities. And like my dad has said, we can fix that, all you need is time and money.

There is alot of info here to fix that yourself if you choose.

Good job. I will check those 2 bolts too. Last year I saw this and added it to the same location as those 2 bolts.

Re: Tires

Mileage on tires have so many variables. On my 1500 I used E3 and was close to 20k on miles. Used E4 for several sets and had 25k plus on one set. On my 1800 now I'm using cobra's with good use. So many variables in tire usage. We just like to ride.

A friend of mine used metzlers on his 08 and liked them. He had never an issue. I think he had 3 sets of them with in the 18k mile range. He has a 2018 wing now.

Re: Madstad experineces and automated adjustment?

I have a Madstad and love it on my 1800 and mechanical adjustment would be nice. Cyclemax has one you can attach to your existing windshield.

I made one similar to that and hang my helmets in the garage during riding season and during the winter I have them in the basement on large round bed post ends mounted on 4x4s. Helmets are covered with helmet bags.

Re: Heated Grip not Working

Sadly there have been a lot of these and a lot of fixes depending on what is causing the problem. The grips and the seat do work together and yes its usually the grips. Mostly I believe is a broken wire in the heated grip wiring on the right side of the bars. If you do an internet search you will fi...

Re: 02 1800 Front Right fork lower bolt - damper issues

I had a spare right fork cartridge that I looked at and mine spins too when I put a bolt in it and seat it to the bottom of the threads. It looks like it is in the tube by an O ring and a clip and that is how it should work. I believe the copper color at the bottom section of the threads is a Honda ...

Looking at other pictures you may be ok. It just may be the way its designed and may require an impact to spin the bolt fast enough to grab and lock in. I have a spare and will look.

Threads in the bottom of the dampener ? As in the end on the bolt threads are stripped out ?

You may be able to re-tap the threading trend dampener and buyable new bolt.

Re: Torque oil filter?

And speaking of oil filters, do you guys pre- oil the filter ? Do you fill with oil, let it soak into the filter media and fill again. I have done this over the years. So that the first start up there is no oil starvation.

Re: Had to Bleed Clutch Again

I have not had that problem with my 07 however I did put speed bleeders on the clutch and brakes for a easier maintenance. And when she is put away for the winter, a couple times a week, I cycle the clutch to keep everything moving.
