You could disconnect the positive battery cable with the possibility of a reset.

It's not that hard once you get to it. Get your new one and tape it to the old one and pull it through.

I've had mine for over a year and love it. No more wind buffering, excellent in the summer, manageable in the spring and fall. Will definitely buy one again.

I have used the upgraded progressive springs and have used the traxxion springs but for me the best upgrade is the progressive monotubes that I'm running now. With a fork rebuild kit from wingstuff.

Have you changed the air filter and check for a mouse nest ? Checked and replaced spark plugs ? Had the battery load tested ?
Also there is some reading here.

I put Kisan modulator on my bike at the beginning of the season and plugged them into the high beams on my 07. Not very difficult to get to as the other guys have said your just getting to the plug and not replacing the bulb.

I had the zumo 590 for about a year and really like it because of the size and everything Bluetooth to my headset. Bought it used. I have since bought a zumo xt and like the clarity of the screen and size also.

Re: what lift do you use to work on your goldwing?
I ride my up the lift. I did add side extensions so I can balance with my feet. Ride the bike up into the wheel chock vise, get off the bike and hold the handlebar while reaching down and tighten the wheel chock vise.

Re: what lift do you use to work on your goldwing?
I have a cheaper craftsman lift that goes under the bike and lifts it up off the floor and I also have a Handy lift with the side extentions that I put my bike on over the winter or for tire changes. It is also a great work bench in the riding season. During the ride season I usually don't have and ...

Re: better model years
I had a 2000 for 6 years and loved that bike but it definitely was a land cruiser. I now have a 2007 gl1800 with 100k miles that has had no issues when I bought it with 43k miles. I really like this bike. Very sporty and easy to ride. I believe the 01 to 05 also had an internal bearing issue.

Re: Problem after oil and filter change
So it was the synthetic oil. My bike is a 2007 gl1800 with 100k miles. I have been running synthetic oil for the last 3 years now and have that same sound and have come to the conclusion that it's supposed to sound that way but I'm not happy about it. You guys that have that sound do you use synthet...

Re: steering head bearings replacement
There are a few different ways to get them out and back in. I used a chisel with a slight bend and ground tip to fit in the small lip and made my own press. Do a search in the 1800 section and you'll find many ways. It is very similar to the 1500.

Re: starter problem
Glad you got it fixed but I would also remove and clean the ground bolt from the battery to the right side of the engine. It can get corroded and cause starting issues. The bolt sits around the reverse cables on the right side of the engine behind the cover.

Re: OEM Spark Plugs and the infamous "gap."
I change my plugs every year during the winter. I ride about 18k miles a year. Plugs are cheap and not hard to change. People say that they run high milage on a bike and the bike still runs great and probably does. But that goes right with a pour suspension or old tires or what ever. We get used to ...

Re: Timing Chain Slack Adjustment
I don't have numbers or sizes but you can get brushes from cyclemax in Ohio and also get oem bearings from them on the oem side of their site. As far as expense goes you may be right about the price but you can not beat Honda's oem parts. I rather pay now and not worry about it again.

Definitely those or these grip puppies. The heat will go through them and they are a better feel than stock diameter grips.

Re: darkside questions
I've had my 07 around 110 and that is on a mc tire. I ran a ct before for several thousand miles and in a straight line not much of a problem. However in a corner is a different issue. I don't think the mc tire would come apart at say 131 but in my opinion ct are for cars and mt are for motorcycles....
