Re: upgrading rectifier/regulator

Yes I noticed that. Both types but combine regulator/rectifier are available for the GL1000. The MOSFET runs $40.00 and the non-MOSFET run about $18-22. But, I still ordered the MOSFET and paid the extra. Not only is there the heat problem generated, but living in So.Cen.TX. where the temps will be ...

Re: upgrading rectifier/regulator

Thanks for the help. After more research, it seems I may have just ordered the wrong unit. Plus, for some reason the way I looked it up on Ebay the first time, I must have mistyped something and didn't see anything for the GL1000 pop up. This time after typing it in properly, many combo r/r units ar...

upgrading rectifier/regulator

I read on another forum (mentioned in topic (charging) on this forum. It was supposed to be plug and play using rectifier/regulator from a CBR600. So I purchased on. Now the regulator on the GL1000 is a 7pin connector but from the actual regulator there are 5 outputs. The 7 pins come from regulator ...

Re: complete engine gasket set GL1000

Thanks for the response....just wanted to verify someone had used aftermarket and had no problems. And this is the 2nd time this motor has been out in the past 2 months. It was pulled originally to put in clutch, and few other things and go through it. Wasn't checked out before putting it back in an...

complete engine gasket set GL1000

OK, have been looking around for complete gasket set for the GL1000, as it is being torn down again to do engine properly this time. Seems no one has original honda set, so there are a number of different mfg sets out there, anyone want to chime in on what set they feel is the best to buy?,(by quali...

Re: My newest money pit as I received her.

Yea, probably wasn't the smartest thing I ever did, but as used parts go, it was very inexpensive and in very good condition. I couldn't turn it down.

Re: My newest money pit as I received her.

This is where I am at with the 75. It is back together. Have put about 100 miles on her. Still needs some tweeking on the timing. Think it is a little too far advanced. Hope to mess with it today. Still need to do some polishing on engine parts and decide what to do about the paint. But it is runnin...

Re: My restored GL1000 K1 is 100% complete now and runs (11.000 mls on the odo) "as new"............

Yea, I will put some up as soon as I get it back. Took the carbs over to the mech. today, but now, I realized neither of us pulled the gas tank and cleaned it, so I won't fire it up until I do that . Now that means tearing half the bike back apart, when i had everything off the frame and painted it ...

Well, my same color 75 is finished except for the carbs which I just got back from Pistol Petes and need to get them on the bike. BUT, I will now be ashamed to post my pics. That my friend is a complete perfect restoration. Mine, I can no longer call a restoration, just maybe a quick get it ready fo...

Re: 94 GL1500, lost volume on radio output

Forgot to let everyone know, found the 5 amp fuse, it was blown, replaced it, radio volume is now fine. Want to thank everyone for their help. The bike is now sold, that little problem was the only thing holding up the sale.

Re: Leg up - assist for old legs

I will also sell the one I have on my 98 1500 aspy...Have had a number of people interested in the bike, but they don't want the landing gear. I will take $1500 plus postage. I have not yet removed it from the bike, so if you want to see a video of it working (which is does), I can make that for you.

Re: How fast is fast?

Back in my younger days, With m brand new 75 GL1000, I opened it up on a trip from CA to TX....hit 125 and felt the front wheel starting to rise, chickened out but it was still pulling. Had not gone much over speed limit for a lot of years after that. Did run my 84 aspy up to 95 a couple times follo...

Re: Finally bought the bike I've wanted, but.......

Unless you have some type proof or great trust in what the PO told you , (if you ask), make sure you change the timing belts asap, preferably before you do much of any riding. Would hate to have a belt snap and wipe out the engine on that baby. I have hd a rash of rear brake pedal problems. I have h...

Re: LOTS OF GL 1000 AND 1100 PARTS FOR SALE

Thanks, The pic I sent was referring to style. I had a set on the first 75 I had. Couldn't find a pic of a 75 with that style. I do have a guy here locally that said he has a set he will sell. I have to get over there and make sure they fit. Already had one set that came with the bike when I bought ...

Re: LOTS OF GL 1000 AND 1100 PARTS FOR SALE

I'll have to check on the linkage. My mechanic said he had a very very difficult time to sync the carbs because of sloppy linkage, so probably the linkage between the carbs is what he was talking about but can't be sure untll I check. It may be ALL the linkage everywhere too. Here is a pic of the ty...

Re: And yet another sad story

It is a sad state in this country with the illegals. Perhaps a bullet is the answer but not in the driver. Maybe in the individual who has the power to stop them from coming, but uses it to help them get here. I know it would make the streets safer here in San Antonio. I hear on the local news, we l...

94 GL1500, lost volume on radio output

OK guys, I did a really dumb thing I know, but now what. I went to jump my bike as battery was down. I didn't turn the key off and went to hook up the cables. When I did, it blew the main fuse. When I got it replaced, I did not have some of my electrical. A couple other fuses were blown. Got all rep...
