Just read an article about this. The person doing the review loved the new front suspension and the new high tech items.

Did I hear correctly? A 7 speed dual clutch automatic with paddle shifters? At last a 6 speed manual.

Re: Oil filters for a 2015 GL
For my '06 I use a WIX WL10000 with great reasults. I also use the HONDA 10W40 oil with no problems. I change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles and now have just over 195,000 miles on my baby.

Re: Do you wear your " Helmet "
Last year while riding back to Fl. after visiting my son and granddaughters in Akron my helmet saved my life. I was crossing the Ohio River on I 77 when I caught sight out of the corner of my right eye an object headed my way. The next thing I knew there was a tremendous hit to the upper right side ...

TRANSMISSION WOES
Well, the dreaded transmission problems reared its' ugly head last Sat. I had not been for a long (more than 50 miles) ride in a long time so last Sat. I decided to ride across the state to Palm Beach. Maybe even go by Trumps' place. I was about 50 miles from home just cruising down a nice empty 2 l...

Re: Oil change interval
I guess that you could say that I am slightly anal about oil changes but I do an oil and filter change every 3,000 miles. I have been using HONDA's 10/40 and a WIX filter. The bike is used every day around town so it does not get much of a chance to heat up for a long enough time to burn off any moi...

ALT BRUSHES
I have an '06 with well over 100,000 miles and was wondering if there is any indication that I should change the brushes in the alt. I have no idea how long they will last. Before I retired I worked at a plastics plant and we were changing the brushes on the conveyor motors quite often. I have notic...

Re: Gold Wing tires
Just this past Thursday I put a pair of E-4s on my ride. I had been using E-3s but my local shop convinced me the last time to run Bridgestones. I got about 1/2 the wear out of them than I was getting with the E-3s. I have been running beads in my tires for years and have not experienced the cupping...

Re: Average age ?
I bought my first Wing on Oct 15, 2005. A new '06 with 1/10th of a mile on the odometer. I am proud to say that it now has just over 195,000. It was my 60th birthday present to myself. I am now 71 1/2 and ride it every day. People have complimented me that I don't look my age and I give credit for t...

ROTELLA
I see where quite a few of my fellow wing owners use ROTELLA. My question is which one?? I work part time at an auto parts store (O'REILLY'S) and we stock 4 different ones. T 15/40 T4 15/40 T5 10/30 and 15/40 T6 5/40 As mother Honda calls for 10/40 would it be safe to substitute a slightly heavier w...

Re: The end of Ethanol-free fuel in the US
I have been running E10 since I bought my "06 new. Never had any problems but then again I do use SEA FOAM. Now a new gas station (WAWA) has opened here in town and they have ethanol free gas at the pump. It is 89 octane as opposed to the 87 that I have been using and is .50 a gallon more. I figured...

Re: GAS IN NEW JERSEY
Back in the day when I was 16 (1961) I got a job at a gas station as a "pump jockey". We used to do everything, pump gas, clean windshields, check the oil and water, check belts, wiper blades and sometimes even tire pressure. This gave the station a chance to upsell. Now days people may check these ...

GAS IN NEW JERSEY
I am in the process of planning a trip up the east coast and into Canada next summer and was wondering about filling up my tank while traveling through New Jersey. I understand that they do not have self serve there. Does that also pertain to motorcycles? I guess that I am anal, but I prefer to do i...

I have to add my praise for the people at Cyclemax. While visiting my son up in Akron this past June I went to their store in Valley city to pick up a few things. They had everything that I wanted in stock and were some of the most helpful and friendly people I have done business with. More stores s...

Re: Oil filter for synthetic engine oil
I have been using a WIX filter since my first oil change. You could not pay me enough to use a FRAM. They used to be a great filter but their quality has gone straight down the tubes in the past several years. I work at an auto parts store (O'REILLY) and we have cut way back on our inventory of FRAM...

Both my highway pegs (case guard mounted) and the normal foot pegs are ground down from my aggressive riding. It's suprising how far over you can lean a wing in corners.

No, right now just the high beams. Being retired and on a limited budget I wanted to try them out in just one position before spending the money for the low beams.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE
Well, I finally got around to replacing my high beams. I was up in Ohio in June and paid a visit to CYCLEMAX and picked up a few things. A set of JIS screwdrivers and a set of the PATHFINDER L.E.D high beams. I just had a couple of days off and got to work on the bike and installed the LEDs. It is a...
MOTOR OIL
I know that many people use ROTELLA in their wings but, which version? I work part-time at an auto parts store (O'REILLY'S) and as I get a discount I might as well get my oil there as I already get my oil filter (WIX) there. I change my oil every 3,000 miles and am coming up on my 64th oil change. T...

Re: brake pads
I put EBC pads on my '06 recently and the pads are different for the front and rear. If you go for the HONDA pads they are different for each side in the front. Then you have the rear ones. I think that this is because of the way they are slotted to help cool and get rid of brake dust. This means yo...

LED'S AND MODULATORS
I am going to be in the area of CYCLEMAX next week and am thinking of stopping by and picking up a set of the new LEDs for my high beams (if they have them in stock) and a modulator. I will be keeping my SYLVANIA "ZXE" bulbs for the low beams and only want to modulate those. Is this the proper way t...

IDIOTS
I retired 5 years ago and have managed to put over 190,000 miles on my '06 since new so I have seen a lot in my travels but nothing compares to what I see almost daily where I live. In Florida if you are over 21 and have the proper amount of insurance you are not required to wear a helmet. So what d...

Re: Cruise Control, Do You Use It On The Highway?
I use mine all of the time o the highway. It's a wrist saver on a long ride like I do several times a year. Last year I found out how nice it is when I took a trip up to Cleveland and after stopping at the welcome center in Georgia I got back on I95 heading north and it would not engage. Had to make...
