Re: General advice to first time Goldwing owner
Welcome to the forum. Did your bike come with maintenance records? How many miles? Where's the pix? I would go into a Honda dealership and have them run a report of services performed by dealers. Won't reflect non-dealer service but will include warranty and recall work and list any open recalls. Ch...

Yes. Available online or auto parts store or even Walmart so long as the pins on bike are “standard.”
You can also build one.

Re: So joined the 1800 club... what do I need to know?
FWIW - I have had four sets of Shinko tires on three different bikes, all were excellent performing. I just bought my first 1800 this week, but have had about 9000 miles of two up riding with myself and my wife on our 88 GL1500 and they have been excellent. I will admit the first set I bought were ...

Welcome to the forum. Sharp looking machine. Many of the How-To articles on this site will be very helpful. I hope it's okay to cross link as there is another forum dedicated to the Valkyrie. http://www.valkyrieriders.com/ Regarding your image, obviously someone has converted it to a three wheeler. ...

Re: 1988 Wing work..winter project!
Great bike. Nice project. One thing, not a criticism, did you pull the driveshaft, clean/inspect/lubricate the splines, replace seals and o-rings? Hydraulic valve lash adjusters so low oil might have caused a performance issue - other things as well. I'd be wary of that at least for a few hundred mi...

Re: Fuse Removal & Test
Welcome to the forum. Looking at the "C" & "D" and arrows can someone tell me how to get that fuse out so I can check it? With a multimeter I test a 12.7 volts across the "C" & "D" screws but that (I believe) is due to the hard wiring to the battery. I...

Re: Brake bleeding on GL1800 ABS
Have you verified all the brake recalls are done? Those recalls will require a full bleed and are free. Generally you will purchase DOT4 brake fluid by the quart and one quart should be sufficient for this project. Do you have a service manual and/or maintenance videos? There are a number of threads...

Re: Cruise Control
Welcome to the forum. There are two things that may be an issue. Try pushing forward on the brake and clutch levers before resuming CRUISE. The lever bushings get worn causing inconsistent contact with the switches. You should replace the brass bushings when you can. Also, the cable between the crui...

Re: Roadsmith trike brake light wiring issue
More two wheeler posts than three wheeler because more two wheelers on the road. Diversity is a good thing.
Thanks for the information. T-CLOCS is for trikes as well. Not that I have never used tie-wraps but for what those folks charge for a trike kit, it should never rely on something like that.

Re: Removing the rear wheel without disassembling the bike
94. I had no problem seeing the U slot, but trying to bring it into alignment with the threaded hole and the other piece even with a drift pin, I could not keep it in place, like I said using my floor jack. I just barely snugged up the 2 top bolts of the main frame to help line things up. But after...

Re: Removing the rear wheel without disassembling the bike
It's impossible to line up the 2 bolt holes, 1 on each side, behind the bags with the 2 other frame pieces. Even using a drift pin. But there is no way to clamp a vise grip to hold the all together so you can screw the bolt in. Yes, you have more room with the bag frame up in the air and easy to ge...

Re: Got a goldwing for free!
Welcome to the forum. 1) Buy a service manual; Honda preferred but Clymer or Haynes will do for now. Read cover to cover. 2) Buy an Owner's manual. Read cover to cover. 3) Read this forum in its entirety - well at least threads regarding GL1000, GL1100 and GL1200 4) there is another forum with old g...

Re: It's the little things.
When I acquired my GL1500 it was those little things that sealed the deal. Radio cover, sleeve for owner's manual and manual had hand written notes on maintenance from day one. Even had the Hondaline bag/trunk liners.

Re: Outlet charger broke
If it is the GL1800 and we're talking about the "plug n' play" cigarette lighter or USB outlet in the glovebox, that harness connection uses the factory ACC fuse in the factory fuse box. If otherwise, a chase out will be required to find a broken wire, bad ground connection or blown fuse. ...

Re: Bleeding Rear Brakes
Yes. Make sure you do not release the pressure on the pedal/lever when the bleed valve is open. It's easier with two people; one to operate the pedal/lever and one to open and close the bleeder valve. Alternatively, you can use a weight attached to the pedal while slowly opening the bleed valve. If ...
