Re: Left rear saddlebag light bundle out

Welcome to the forum. If I read correctly, everything else works and tail light, brake light and turn signal are all out. You would seem to have a broken ground wire or the entire harness is disconnected. Use a test light connected directly to the negative post and check the bulb sockets to verify y...

Re: Steering head, missing value

Assume we are talking GL1500 as you say Blackwing and that's the only thing she sells under that name. Year and mileage? New wheel bearings. Front and rear? Since you visually examined steering head bearings, assume they are not new. How old are they? Tapered? As RAMBOZO asked, under what conditions...

Re: Steering head, missing value

I do not think that site is applicable to roller bearing forces. Clamping forces on a fixed joint are different than thrust/compression forces within a bearing. What exactly are you trying to determine? If you are using roller bearings, tighten the retaining nut to the Honda specified torque value. ...

Imagine how much better it would handle if you remove the whole trunk! 😳😉
Well, why not go all the way?

I am totally impressed that you can tell a difference in handling after removal of the luggage rack!

Re: 85 gl1200 timing cams without a cover

Ii should still run even if it was one tooth off.

I think the same module fires both cylinders on one side and I think each plug wire fires on every revolution (wasted spark on exhaust stroke). Hopefully you can get those plugs out without further disassembly.

Are you needing the entire system, collector box, pipes or just the mufflers? Not sure why what is already there affects your plans for replacement.

Re: Hello WINGADMIN - something spooky going on here

Yup. Very sneaky. Usually the ones from Russia, India etc. are pretty obvious because they can't write English, or they post completely irrelevant junk. This guy actually posted motorcycle questions. But he lied about his location, he reported he was from New York, but his IP address showed he was ...

Re: 85 gl1200 timing cams without a cover

Welcome to the forum. If memory serves me, on the GL1200 there are cam timing marks on the pulleys and the castings. The electronic ignition timing is managed by a trigger wheel behind the crankshaft pulley. If the wheel was out of time, it would affect all cylinders Could be the pulse generator. Ob...

Hello WINGADMIN - something spooky going on here

You are usually Johnny on the Spot at blasting the bad guys. But this might be a new tactic that could slip by - if in fact is is bad. The replies to these two posts, supposedly by OP, both look the same, with same typo, but with addition of a web link. Just looked suspicious and strange and may be ...

If you go to Sierra Electronics web site, they have several top quality choices of helmets with wired or wireless headsets. https://www.sierra-mc.com/ I am sure there are folks that have had positive experiences with low priced Bluetooth headsets sold directly from overseas. There are many though th...

Re: Bubbles during bleeding.

The GL1800 does have some difficult high points for bleeding. Are the bleeders original? I ask because there were some knock-off Speedbleeders being sold with the wrong seat angle and other issues. Where did you use grease and silicone?

Re: Front forks are too wide- wheel will not mount on the forks.

Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you are doing this job yourself. Replacing the consumables (seals and bushings) should not result in this issue. Have you possibly not reinstalled all the axle spacers? I can't imagine anything in the triple trees that could cause this.

Unfortunately a friend of mine is having the same issues with the Sena and helmet. Now as far as your wind noise co...

Re: pegs vs boards

My first Wing (GL1200) came with floorboards. I never had them before. Kinda liked them. When I got my GL1500 it was the first thing on my Christmas list. Had them for a long time and never had an issue. Never even tried to rest my foot on the shifter. The whole idea of boards is to able to shift my...

Buy them both so if you decide you don't want the Yamaha, the Honda will be waiting. And you can just park the Valkyrie at my house until that day comes. I'll take good care of it. Honestly, I have no experience with the Venture. I would never hesitate to buy a Valkyrie with 60,000 miles. I would as...

I'm back. I like the solutions that are given, but my question was which brand would do best. Amazon sells all this in the US as well as many other sources. I'm unsure what supplier would be best for you, internet or brick & mortar store. The original GoPro brand is used by many professionals. ...
