Re: Seat
I had a Mustang on my Valkyrie and didn't care for. My friend has a Mustang on his F6B and swears by it. I have had an Ultimate on my GL1500, Valkyrie Interstate and GL1800. Very happy with all of them. There are a dozen aftermarket seat companies because we all like something different. I suggest y...

Re: auto volume control
Welcome to the forum. There is a range of settings on how much the volume increases; three for speakers and two for headset. From the owner's manual: To automatically increase volume as the speed of the motorcycle increases. Push the VOLUME knob/button until ‘‘AUTO VOL SPK’’ (‘‘Auto Speaker Vol’’) i...

Re: Valve adjustment
IIRC the GL1200 has hydraulic lash adjusters; no adjustment required or possible. I also seem to remember that the fuel pump is on the right side and makes a ticking sound just like a valve train noise.

Re: 1999 GL1500 Rear brake adjustment
New fluid can help quite a bit. The GL1500 can be difficult to properly bleed the pedal brake lines as they feed two calipers. Start with the front.

Re: Wiring dilemma
Your profile lists a 2013 F6B but you posted in the 2018+ forum. The sub harness you list is the RIVCO plug and play for 2018+ models. Correct? Is the isolator also the RIVCO unit (TWC004)? Why have you not used all the isolator connections? The RIVCO isolator instructions say: NOTE! The isolator is...

Re: Highway pegs
Congratulations on the new ride.
Those look like common Kuryakyn brand pegs and mounts. You could probably clamp to the vertical bar and rotate the arms around. You can check their site and see if there are different mounting blocks or arms that might work better for you.

Well, she’s approaching 200k miles so I keep her stabled unless the new 2012 I just put in service needs a break! I just couldn’t buy a new one at twice the cost, and the 2012 only had 4K miles on it.. Understand completely. The 2018 had just come out and I chose a 2015 with 2000 miles for half the...

Good to know. I'm going to have to do something by Thursday because the wife wants me to take her to Guthrie, OK, to see some old friends that will be in town there. I'll get over to my little hardware store in the morning before work tomorrow to get the nuts and bolts and washers and then drill aw...

At least you can do both latches for symmetry.
In your case, another location to bolt up a pair of strobes/leds. You can never have too many!
I've been thinking about this. Maybe a good place to create a mount for a dash cam?

Re: GL1800 trailer choices, single mono wheel or dual wheel
What do you want the trailer to do for you? What are your needs and expectations? I've been through a handful, all two wheelers. To be honest, I have no complaints about any of them. Leaf springs, torsion axles, air ride, swivel hitch...at the end of the day they all go where they are towed. Don't o...

Re: Installing accessories on the handlebars
What I use is a reservoir-fastened RAM mount . You remove the two machine screws fastening either the left or right clutch or brake reservoir to the handlebar, and replace them with the machine screws supplied with this mount, fastening the mount in place at the same time. Then you can clamp any RA...

Re: Voltmeter or Ammeter?
An ammeter certainly can be a nice piece of equipment. A direct current ammeter needs to be installed so that all current flows through it. A simplistic description is placing it in line between the battery and the battery cable. Since you want to see it from the riding position, you will need to mo...

Re: Headlight Lamp Choice
Good question, and the search will lend you many, many results but all probably in the same vein. The reflectors are fine, and they reflect the light from the filaments of a standard H7 bulb as designed. Cheap Chinese LEDs from eBay don't put the LEDs in the same exact position as the original H7 b...

Hi neighbor. What part of Maine are you in? Several brand of wind deflectors look similar. National Cycle has ratchet type adjustment. The rest are strictly friction. Here are a few. Note that some of the replacement parts are interchangeable. http://bakerbuiltairwings.com/ http://motowing.com/ http...
