Re: Shifting to higher gear question

Trike conversions usually have a different final drive ratio than the OEM. There is a heavier amount of rotating mass (also is a heavier machine) so a trike is a little different than a two wheeler. The engine has a great amount of torque so it will pull from low RPM without complaining. I recall fr...

Re: So you need to wire your bike for a trailer

Yes, there are several trailer brands that have batteries in them. You can contact Steve and he can build a plug and play harness for you or you can source out other options. In addition to providing a plug for each light, you will need a constant 12 volt supply to the battery. Does your trailer hav...

Re: Darkside List: Which tires fit which model Goldwing

The Darkside experiment is based on much anecdotal, qualitative data. My observation of these stories is that several owners have had difficulties when using 15 inch wheel. There is an automotive engineering standard for the shape and dimensions of the wheel bead seat and tire bead itself; 15 inch a...

Re: Shutting down in this Texas heat.

Sorry I don't have the magic solution for you. IIRC, the K&N removes the factory seal for the air filter box. You need to install this with the new paper filter. With this horrible gas mileage, is it possible you are running out of gas? I'm leaning toward ignition system; ECM, pulse generators, ...

Re: Air Horn?

On the GL1500, I had the basic WOLO kit with the trumpets under and compressor inside the right pannier. The trumpets would die after a year or so being down low in the dirt and the wet. Good news is they are cheap. Eventually, I changed out to an emergency vehicle electric air horn. I had similar s...

Re: How to install a headlight modulator

While I have been to bars in many states, I will not represent anyone in a court of law. That said, headlight modulators for motorcycles are absolutely legal throughout all of the United States. Many states have laws prohibiting "alternating headlights" except for emergency vehicle use. So...

Re: My 2012 Wing is Sputtering At Launch

Welcome to the forum. Where are you from? The air filter does not need to get "broken in" but the ECM may need to know about the new filter. Start the bike cold. Do not touch the throttle. Let it idle until the fans come on. Shut off. Then start and take for a ride. Some folks will disconn...

Welcome to the forum. Bear in mind that your bike is an antique and is older than the mechanics at the Honda dealer. I suggest you work your way through the How-To pages. Good advice already. The real question is what do you want to get from it? You may want to experiment with some of these options until you reach your objective. I used the GoPro for a while with mounts everywhere (both their click-in type and RAM balls). Some locations get noisy. Some have restricte...

DON'T TOUCH THOSE SCREWS! Whew; had to get that out there. Stuff rags, tape, magnets and anything you can around that hole. Re: Brake lights work for the foot pedal but not the hand lever

You have air in the lines. There is a proper bleeding sequence in the service manual. Sometimes that does not remove all the air. There is a junction block near the steering stem that can hold an air bubble. There is no bleed valve here - you will need to loosen the brake line. This is sometimes cal...

Great pickup! Love those surprise boxes. 1. If they are as old as you say, the headlight modulator may not work with LED headlight bulbs. The Pathfinder unit is made by Kisan and the firmware was updated for LED use maybe five years ago or so? I was a Beta tester. The including instructions will spe...

Re: Hi Beams intermittent

The modulator could have failed. It is supposed to be designed that, when it fails, it should become neutral, i.e. act as if it's not there. I would probably remove that temporarily while troubleshooting.

Otherwise, I don't have any specific directions for you. Sorry.

Welcome to the forum. The first thing I would suggest is attendance at a Basic Rider Course. There are many available in your area. They also have three wheel specific versions. Also, many of that type are of a lower performance grade than the better known bulbs such as Superbright, Electrical ...
