Re: Knipex Adjustable Wrench Review (Video)

Wonderful review Admin. As usual you cover it in depth! I'm sold. I've never spun a crescent wrench wrong, but growing up our nickname for them was called "knucklebusters", Because inevitably they would slip and well, you can guess. The Knipex will soon be in my tool grab bag for sure. Might get 2 s...

Covid-19 quarantine

Just wanted to shout out to everyone, I hope for us all, that we are safe and/or will recover. Myself, belonging in the 60 and up crowd, along with diabetic and past cardiac troubles, I find myself feeling a bit wary of any, or much travel at this time. I have been, you might say, "quarantining" mys...

Re: ride to a stranger?

When I bought my '98 1500, I was many states away. I saw it advertised on craigslist. Aurora Colorado area and I am in Massachusetts. A couple clicks and texts and we eventually talked on phone. The PO took me live on his laptop around the bike pointing out any known blemishes. I was able to hear it...

Re: Fog light bulbs

Cyclemax has the cornering bulbs you are looking for. I have a 98 gl1500se and have burned through a stock set every year it seems. I upgraded to the LED Replacement Driving Light SCML50WC The cost is $24. for each but they have lasted, and are WAY brighter than stock. Always replace in pairs. The d...

Re: 2018 Cleveland Motorcycle Show Report - Pictures! Video!

Thanks WingAdmin for the in-depth report of the new Gold Wing. With all the previous reports and reviews about lack of storage and lack of passenger comfort and amenities, the new and improved offerings still had me intrigued at the prospect of trading up, However, your wonderful and very informativ...

A little on that same note; I remember long time ago when I was just a kid and my dad said to me while he was trying to reach in and around to remove some part off his truck, "Son, I truly believe that the wrench company calls up the auto manufactures and says, "We have this special wrench that's lo...

I don't know if this could in any way be something, but something like that happened to me after I had cleaned up my bike. Somehow I turned on the cb with squelch down and volume up and yep, that sound is about what you mention. Took me quite a while to figure it out. I thought I had major electrica...

Re: With key turn sometimes radio and clock are off

It sounds like you have a problem in the ignition switch. Your air pump and CB radio, if you have one, probably don't work either when that happens. Thanks for the reply Bellboy40, after posting I scrolled down and did find under "similar posts" that I'm not alone with this problem. Just curious if...

Hi Wingadmin, Hi all, I love this site and what everyone contributes. It is no wonder the numbers are up. I suspect everyone needs that little attention to detail to get their rides in order and this is the best place for a helping hand! And I'm sure that the extra heavy rain for-casts that have pla...

With key turn sometimes radio and clock are off

Hi all. I wanted to throw out a problem that someone here may have experienced and fixed(or not), When I turn the key to acc and or to start, sometimes the radio and clock don't come on. Usually it happens if I turn the key a little faster than normal, but not always. When this happens I also notice...

Re: Turned key on and lights came on press the start everything went dark. Help

Well at 1 time the same thing happened to me. I always ride my bike into my trailer and onto the stand and leave her in neutral, sometimes let her idle a short while. Well one day in a hurry to meet up with a buddy, I jumped on like I've done thousands of times and turn the key and hit the starter a...

Re: OMRON G8MS-H30 relays

Yes it is a smart charger. I set it for gel and 2 amp. Thing is, 2 weeks prior, I was out riding for a spell and then we got into a rainy / foggy patern, and since I keep the bike in an enclosed trailer things get damp inside from condensation. I'm thinking maybe there is wires or connections somewh...

Re: OMRON G8MS-H30 relays

Thanks for your repl. The battery is a new gel purchased in June. It is fully charged and I even had my heavy duty charger on it too. I am hoping that maybe it is a faulty relay and that would be the easy fix. Might have to trailer it down to the Honda dealer and get her fixed.

Hi to all and Merry Christmas and happy new year as well. I have a question. I went out on Christmas day and with a full charged battery and about 60 degree weather decided to go for a ride on my 98 1500 wing but all I got when I turned the key was very dim lights and nothing but clicking from the r...

Re: Blackwing Fork Brace for GL1500

I hadn't noticed that there is or was any wobble or tough handling with my 98 1500SE. I always feel that my bike has responsive handling in and out of the corners. My previous bike 1986 vt1100c shadow took corners beautifully and I remember when I switched over to the wing I had to really be more ag...

Re: Well who rode on Christmas Day?

Christmas day didn't work out for me, I was up at 230 am, the filler hose to the ice maker sprung a bad leak and flooded the kitchen floor and was like a rain storm pouring through the floor into the basement. Got it all patched up and cleaned up at 4 am, didn't quite recover enough from the interru...

I remember every one of them. I could probably add a few more nostalgic entries as well. I remember my mother saving and licking all those S & H green stamps into the booklets and a few times trading them in at the store that was a good drive away. I remember when FM radio finally was broadcast, I t...

Re: GL1500 Cornering LED

Thanks Huntsman47 for the reply. Since I have replaced my cornering lights 3 times on left and once on right I am sure they will be the first replaced. I use the gell type battery and I would like to get the most life from that investment. A little less draw on the battery is my biggest goal.

Re: GL1500 Cornering LED

Hi all, I have been toying with the idea of replacing as many lights on my bike with LED as I can, but as of yet I have not. When they have given up the ghost on me I end up just replacing with the tried and true specific fitments or OEM parts. The main reason is that I have read or heard that switc...

I have this same stand in my trailer. I don't have a garage and I put the bike every night back in the trailer. I just drive it right up and into the stand and get off. I tie it down when I tow the trailer of course. I have the front tire fender extender and the chrome /plastic rotor covers and I ha...

Re: Average age ?

I have been on a wing for about 5 years. I'm 55 now but have loved the look and wanted to eventually own a wing since the 80's. Always had Honda's CB 100, SL 350, VLX 600, and VTC 1100. Finally was in a position to spend a little extra and get my 98 1500 SE. I think Goldwing's are seen around more o...

Re: How do you handle test rides

Update to my previous post. (I really loved that bike and hated to have to part with it. It was a fun bike AND my 1st bike.) It is always tough to let go of the one that seems to fit you like a well worn pair of jeans. I too let go of my '86 1100 shadow after I purchased my GW 1500 SE. I rode that ...
