Re: Going back to OEM from floor board & heal/toe shifter
I just bought a 1993 1500 SE. I was lucky, there was a guy parting out a 1500 on a 1500 group. I wrote to him about the stock foot pegs, break petal and shift lever. I said I had to get rid of the floor boards and stuff. In about 15 minutes another guy ask how much would I wanted for my stuff. Well ...

Re: Strange electrical problem
Had the same problem with a 76 LTD. It was the push button that made the starter work. It would stick between on/off. Took it apart and cleaned it.

Re: carb removal
I have found it easier to remove the intake manifolds, then when you can move the set to the left remove the tops of the right side carbs. If you want more room remove the engine guard on the left side also. Pulled a lot of them on 1000s, 1100s and 1200s, Just my 2 cents worth.

Re: Noise in front end
Haven't had a chance to work on it to day. Will remove front wheel tomorrow and pull forks out and do a tale down to inspect them. Thanks for the info. I will let you know in a few days if problem is fixed. I am waiting on a new front tire and I don't want to take wheel off twice. I got the new rear...

Noise in front end
Gentlemen, I have a problem, it is with a 81 1100 interstate. When I hit any size bump, pot whole or any thing that moves the front forks there is a loud knocking noise coming from either the forks or the fairing. I have pulled the front wheel to see if any slack in forks, they seem tight. I have ch...

Knocking noise in front
Hello from the deep south of Petal Mississippi. Got a question. I have a 81 Interstate. When I run over small pot holes or small holes in the yard there is a loud knocking noise in the front around the faring. I have checked all the mounting bolts and nuts. Checked the bolts on the triple clamps. ch...

God put corn on the earth to eat and drink, not to fuel cars, trucks and motorcycles. I wonder how many congress men and women got paid off to pass this crap?

Re: And now the rest of story
Sorry you had so much bad luck on your trip. My dad used to say if he didn't have any bad luck he wouldn't have any luck at all. About the wife being happy, down here in Mississippi we have a saying for that, if mama ain't happy, no body is happy and if grandma ain't happy, RUN RUN.

Re: Check the level in your battery
I also had one of those battery float chargers years ago. Cooked a battery in my 76 LTD. Ever since then I use a 24 hour timer, set it to switch a regular small battery charger set to it's lowest setting that can be used on anything for 1 hour each night at midnight. I do check the water about 1 tim...

I am in need of left side cover, the one over the battery. I have an 87 Int silver-gray color. I will take any color if you have. Also need the air intake vents on each side of headlight in the front of faring. Email me at reggiefavre1943@yahoo.com

Re: Mirrors?
I have tried moving the glass and also the housing. Nothing moves. Now that I have the new ones, I will take one of the old ones apart and discover how to adjust it. If any one else has any ideas let me know. When I take the old apart I will post how it's done.
Thanks

Two small county judges both got arrested
Two small county judges both got arrested for speeding on the same day. Rather than call the state Supreme Court for a visiting judge, each agreed to hear the other's case. The first judge took the bench while the second stood at the defendant's table, and admitted his guilt. The sentencing judge im...

I use a simple timer that plugs into the wall socket, then plug the small 2 amp charger to it. Set it to come on for 1 hour each 24 hours. I get 4 to 5 years on both my GL 1100 and my 67 Electra Glide. Of course I check the water every 4 weeks and use distilled water. In the summer I hardly ever hoo...

Re: Carb Rebuild Questions
I am so glad I found this GL site. I have been having problems with #4 carb. The pictures will help a lot. I have been wondering what the third post was for. I am just about ready to install a single carb on this thing.
Thanks again for the pictures. Maybe I can get it fixed now.
