Re: Personalized (Vanity) license plate

On my last Goldwing I had "4COACHN" I bought it when I stopped coaching High School Softball. The bike was my reward. On a little Toyota 4X4 I had that looked like a minature monster truck, I had "PUDLJMPR". If that one hadn't been available I was gonna get "STMPJMPR"

I did switch the fuse the first time it did it, that didn't fix it, at least not for 5 miles LOL. Is Relay 3 in the box beside the fuse box?

1500 rolled off kickstand, now NO TAIL LIGHTS.

I went camping in WV this weekend. At one of my stops on Saturday, I had backed up using Reverse. When I was done, I took it out of reverse, put the kickstand down and shut it off. I forgot to put it in gear. After I got off, it rolled forward, off the stand and fell over. Embarrassed, I picked it u...

Re: skyline dr, blue ridge, tail, nashville or bust

Leave yourself plenty of time for the PW. If you plan to stop and see any of the amazing vistas from the overlooks. It takes longer than you think. (But totally worth it!) A couple of years ago, I did the Dragon, the Parkway, and Skyline. It took 2 1/2 days. If you haven't already, go to www.bluerid...

Re: Going Darkside

After 45, just the noise will make you slow down. Not to mention shortening the life span of the flag. They don't seem to like the high speed processions. Ride Safe! Chief I understand. I don't do 70 with the flags unfurled tho. I was speaking to the solid feel of the car tire. I did a test run aft...

Re: Going Darkside

Hey Chief, I'm running the Austone on the back and the Battleax on the front. (not reversed and with dyna beads) I have yet to find any thing wrong. My 95 tracks straight and true. Like you, I normally run in the 70 - 75 range on the interstate. I have drug the footpegs in turns. But, in wet weather...

Re: skyline Drive and Blueridge Parkway

October is a good time to ride them. Expect weather changes (ie. it was 89 degrees F yesterday, 60 today) Leaves won't be changing colors very much by the first week. (Unless we have a dramatic drop in temp between now and then) Speed limit on Skyline is 35 MPH. They charge entry fee. Skyline is 105...

Re: Air Compressor

That would make sense if it would now decrease pressure by pushing the p check and the decrease button. But it doesn't. After I pumped up the bike tire, the shocks were at 45 lbs. When I pushed the p check today, to get ready to increase the pressure, it showed 82. It won't increase or decrease. The...

Air Compressor

A month or so ago, I used the air compressor to pump up my son's bicycle tire. It did fine. Yesterday I wanted to increase the shock pressure to ride 2 up. When I checked the pressure, it said 82 and the compressor wouldn't run. I keep my pressure at 42-45. I know 82 isn't right. I remember wingadmi...

I normally can find a place to pull over but last year I had a kid with a new Mustang ride so close I could not see his headlights. Luckily I was only 1/2 mile from my house. I needed to go to the High School to pick up my daughter. I went home, put the MC away and got my truck to go get my daughter...

Re: Fair price for 1995 anniversary edition

I bought my 95 last year with 71,000 on it for $5,000. The going price seems to be 5 to 6.5. Mine has several upgrades ( Ring of Fire, LEDs underneath, Chrome accents, etc) The only things it doesn't have, but I hope to add soon, are passenger armrests and driver seatback. Good luck. You will LOVE t...

Also know that, if you have an odd number of flags, 3,5, etc., the American flag CAN be in the center and should be TALLER than the other flags.

Answers to a LOT of my questions

Just got home from a 5 day, 1500 mile trip thru the mountains of VA and WV. When I say 'thru the mountains', I mean, of the 1500 miles, less than 200 was on 4 lane roads. It was great. Here are some of the questions that I answered. Will thicker grips help keep my hands from getting numb? Yes, they ...

OD Indicator

Yesterday I noticed when I put it in OD, the indicator would take a couple of seconds before it lit up. Today it didn't come on at all, well it did once, but when I rode it later it didn't. I thought I read on here somewhere that the OD light and cruise were linked so, I tried the cruise and it work...

Hey Viking, Like you I spent a lot of time serving my country. Luckily for me, I have been able to see quite a bit of it (as well as some other countries). I hope on your next run you can make it a little further south. When you dropped off near Roanoke, to go to Natural Bridge, you were just getting to the most scenic part. OK after putting the Austone on and riding it for a coupla weeks I have found that it rides as well as a MC tire and even better in some situations ie, Interstate, wind, rain, etc. Getting ready for a ride to Wisconsin in a few days so, I've changed the timing belts, oil, antifreeze, brakes, plugs, ...
