Re: Fuel odor

an Impact Wrench does not even belong in the same building that a motorcycle is being worked on. hope that seat bolts were replaced, they are ruined. and maybe the threads in the frame attachment points? I'm wondering if it was an impact wrench or an air ratchet wrench. I have two, a 3/8 and 1/4 in...

Have you tried to reinstall the firmware to see if it helps?
Water in one camera connector in the front. I pulled both units out. Done with all the add-ons unless it's comfort or mechanical repair.

Russel day long seat. They take your dimensions and seat, then customize. I found the Ultimate seat to be too firm. Gorgeous seat, just like sitting on cardboard.

Re: BulletHD Biker Pro Camera Review

I'm not sure what happened to BulletHD after they were bought out and changed ownership a few years ago. They were working on a new dual channel product a couple years ago, but hit a few road blocks and than disappeared. At OCD Tronic, for motorcycle dashcam products we only sell the INNOVV K2 thes...

Re: BulletHD Biker Pro Camera Review

Hey guys, when considering these cameras for your bike, consider that I had 2 of them fail after 4 years. They may have failed sooner, but I don't know since I wasn't monitoring them. One ingested water into the camera in front, the rear wi-fi became inop. I can possibly make one from the two of the...

Re: Fuel odor

This is a very strange issue. This problem began after the secondary master was replaced under recall. I have had nothing but issues with dealer repair work so going back is not an option. I just finished correcting every other problem created and don't want any more. I have a pressure bleeder. I h...

Re: Foot Brake pedal low. Pumps up, draws fluid from reservoir, gets hard, the fluid pumps back into reservoir.

Two years ago when working on a friends GL1200 brake system, I had to fabricate a special wrench to remove the brake line nut from the rear master cylinder. There was no way to get a good bite on that brake line nut with a standard wrench. The nut was also locked in place tight. It needed a flare n...

Outstanding. Glad you got it sorted out.
Thanks to all of you for the input. I have considered making a wrench for the PCV flared fitting nuts. It can be reached with a specially formed wrench. No ABS bikes have more clearance for the tools needed to reach the fittings.

Re: Foot Brake pedal low. Pumps up, draws fluid from reservoir, gets hard, the fluid pumps back into reservoir.

While In there I noticed the clear drain hose attached to the air box all bunched up and pressing against the throttle cams. This is another issue created when the engine was out. I'm lucky it didn't jam the throttle full open, damn lucky.

Re: Foot Brake pedal low. Pumps up, draws fluid from reservoir, gets hard, the fluid pumps back into reservoir.

I have solved the issue without cracking the flared fittings at the PCV. That area is indeed where the air was trapped. There are 4 flared fittings at the rear ABS modulator. My wife pumped the foot pedal with the pressure bleeder attached. I then cracked each fitting separately. Tightened while the...

Re: Foot Brake pedal low. Pumps up, draws fluid from reservoir, gets hard, the fluid pumps back into reservoir.

I'll need to fabricate a wrench to get to it. The other choice is to increase the flow through the pressure bleeder. I never allow a brake system to completely drain for this reason. Replace the master and bleed at the line until clear. Thanks, you confirmed my fears and suspisions. I’m not sure if...

Re: Fuel odor

Although my shop also attracts mechanics who own Gas, recently I've had a couple of m/c mechanics trust their work with me. One came from another GW shop that works on all generations of Gas , and he used to work there. He's now in a financial position to pay for work. The reason he came to me ... ...

Re: Fuel odor

Long story short ... there are over 70 parts missing on this Wing ... from air-box air snorkels, to fresh air ducks, routing brackets, heat vent cable ... and the list continues. His engine needs pulled to correct coolant leaks from the hoses under the intake manifold. He's leaving here with a bill...

I'm sure you heard of Jim Venny of Venco wings in Loudon, NH. Jim passed some years back. I took a liking to Jim right from the get go. He was always eager to help. Like you stated, he had the same outlook as many other motorcycle shops. He stated on more than one occasion that GW owners are cheap-w...

BulletHD Plus cameras

Anyone had issues with these cameras failing? I purchased two and installed them on my bike. I took the time and installed then as professionally as possible. They have both since failed. 1 won't connect to wi-fi, and the other fails on boot-up. They seemed like a quality product. Please share your ...

So there's that story, here is another. A guy has another Honda dealer doing his trans repair, calls up and want to purchase and have shipped an undercut transmission from me. Re: Fuel odor

I'm still working on it, but it will be done soon. Unfortunately, the reason I didn't want to get more involved with it, is because I've seen so much of this. Often a dealer will do a good engine/trans repair, but the quality of the re-installation lacks lots of attention. I've worked on a couple o...

Re: Fuel odor

I wanted to post a few pics. I have found numerous issues from the warranty repairs. Never again will anyone touch this bike. I fabricated a regulated air pressure tool for helping with the job of finding a leak. There at this time is no fuel leak. I found the coolant leak after pressurizing the coo...

I only said you could have led with that info because it would have let us know that talking about how overfilling the tank and possibly flooding the fuel vapor canister would not have been on the radar. Definitely feel your pain of having a hack work on your bike when they are supposed to be train...
