Re: 2012 wing w/ abs wheel on 2008 w/o abs

ABS works with the rotor, not the wheel. The answer is most likely yes, it should work.

Uni-Go touring trailer with GL1800 custom bullet proof draw bar. 1200.00 firm.

I purchased this almost two years ago and used it once. I made a draw bar that is virtually one piece with the bike. I am selling this for what I purchased it for. I also paid 300.00 to have it shipped. The price is firm at 1200.00. I don't play games. If you want it then PM me. Please consider I am...

Re: trailer or hitch rack

I made one of these years ago that comes apart and fits in my trunk. I added a stem to mount it upward as an alternative store point when the trunk is full. I love the concept. I have had zero issues.

Re: Honda disgraced themselves with the 2018 Goldwing

Honda is not known for their working with customers. Arrogant manufacturer. Having trouble with my 12 and they won't help. Still under warranty. They rarely change mid-stream. My next bike will be a BMW or Harley. Sorry Honda, you dropped the ball on this new Goldwing. Rode one and think the OP is d...

Re: Electrical Connection LED Headlight

I have seen Michelins last 100K on a car, why not 30K on a bike? We are limited by our minds only. I'm considering the dark side on my next set.

Re: Electrical Connection LED Headlight

I think replacing the socal diodes before they burn out is a waste of money. If they never burn out, then so be it. It's getting crazy. You can be sure someone has something better right behind these EC diodes. How about a MT that last 30K miles? Now that would be something! The main reason for rep...

Re: Electrical Connection LED Headlight

I have the EC led's on my 06 GL 1800. Love them. Two notes of caution. One I had one driver box fall down and block the triple tree from turning. The tape that comes with kit, tore in two. Cleaned it up and use Gorilla double side tape and wire tied it up. Two I have the modulator on the high beams...

Re: gl1800 swingarm bearing replacement

I got home from vacation Thursday. I picked up the bike yesterday and worked on it today. I purchased a fish scale and set the turning force to about 4.5 lbs. The dealer did the brake recall which fixed the occasional dragging of the brakes. The torque procedure fixed the stability issue. The stem ...

Re: gl1800 swingarm bearing replacement

I do have an update. The dealer claims it's the stem bearings torque. Asked them to re-torque and guarantee that it would solve the issue. They wouldn't. I guess that means they didn't know. I got the impression that they didn't want to get involved. I asked why the condition came on full, and not g...

Re: GL1500 shift shaft stabilizer mod. No drilling.

I could have these made at a fraction of the cost in china. I choose to use American aluminum, and manufacturing. I also have greater control over the quality. To date, not a single quality issue with any of them. They all are well within tolerance.

Re: GL1500 shift shaft stabilizer mod. No drilling.

I know that this is a common problem since there is a lot of posts about it but 108,000 miles on my 92 from 1992 to 1998, and about 50,000 on my 98 SE from 1999 to 2003 and I never had a shiftier seal leak. The leaking is a small part of the issue. The stress created from the extended arc makes fin...

Re: GL1500 shift shaft stabilizer mod. No drilling.

Hi. I am new to the site as a member. I have a 1978 GW and just recently purchased a 1988 GW. The 88 is in great condition and as I slowly pick at everything I am seeing this same oil leak around the gear shift. Before I read about the problem here I realized that there was a lot of stress on that ...

Re: gl1800 swingarm bearing replacement

Well, I am at my wits end. Ready to dump the POS in the river. Replaced stem bearings, tires, diff and installed a good used set of forks. The stem bearings were wiped out. Swing arm tools came, but the parts won't be here till monday. They are at the post office. It is down to a bad pivot assy for ...
