Yep, not even the Chinese will sell you the two way version cheap.

Re: Map sensor

I just dug in on a 03 1800 to check the air filter and coolant level to find the map sensor hanging loose on the wire harness. IMG_0796.JPG My question is should this have been attached to one of those open holes on the edge of the cruse module? Or does it belong somewhere else since it is a sensor...

Re: LCD Display Driver Board

I found that post and yup, ended sending to the guy and he fixed it. I was going to myself but, my eye sight isn't what it once was and he had all the test equipment needed. I'm so very happy now. Both displays are now functional and everything is working as it should. Thanks for the post and the l...

Re: LCD Display Driver Board

Hey folks, here's a good one for ya. I'm looking for the schematic for the Driver Board the controls the LCD display in the combination meter module. I haven't been able to find anything so I don't know if there is one in existance. I'm sure Honda won't turn loose of it since you know they have to ...

Re: Hole Above Oil Filter

Hello All, First Post. Having an oil leak. Just came out of the shop for a transmission issue that was fixed. 2003 GL1800 ABS with 53,000 miles. My dad and I got it up on the stand where we were preparing to do a front timing chain cover which I was told was the source of the leak by the mechanic w...

Re: fuel leak

I have a 2012 Goldwing Trike that the Evap canister is filling up with fuel. Now being new to Goldwings I have no Idea where to start, any help would be welcomed. The engine runs even with the leak and when I shut it down it stops in a minute or 2. Thanks in advance. Does your trike have an aux. fu...

I wouldn’t replace it right away. Keep the fuel level down below full and take it for a nice long ride at highway speeds and it should dry it out.

Re: Reverse on my 2012 GW 1800

I seldom have to use my reverse, but when you need it you NEED it! The switch on the handlebar won't connect. I push it, if shifts from neutral to reverse, then back to neutral. Any suggestions other than taking the bike to a shop would be appreciated. The grease in the switch has turned hard and is...

Re: GL1800A - Indicators all staying on

Yes, the bad ground that EC is referring to is one that will cause all sorts of issues with the rear lighting. Mostly evident when the brake lights are activated. If you remove the tail light fuse, it will remove this ground as a possibility when the brakes are not activated.

Re: GL1800A - Indicators all staying on

Hi all, have searched (to best of my ability), the forum for help on 2003/2004 indicators staying on. They will not cancel and all four stay on without blinking. Checked bulbs, fuses and all appears ok. When the hazard switch is used, all work fine. I am not a sparky and the only thing I can think ...

Re: GL1800 clutch slave

What is unknown is what is it there for? Basically the hole is a breather hole. As the slave piston moves in and out, the air pressure in the slave cylinder's area changes. I agree that it functions to allow air flow so the cup doesn’t fight a pressure differential, but if that was its only functio...

Re: Brightest LED headlight bulbs?

When illuminated the filament is (as one would expect) a little wire about a centimeter long, if memory serves. The Electrical Connections LED bulbs have several tiny LED squares in a row on both sides, about a centimeter long and fairly well placed in the same position as the original filaments, s...

Re: Brightest LED headlight bulbs?

For my GL-1500.... I installed some cheap LED headlights in the bike a few years ago. They seem like they are getting dimmer as time goes on. Who makes the BRIGHTEST led bulbs for the 1500 these days? I really like Electrical Connections LEDs on my gl1800, but I don’t know if they have them for the...

Re: RPM surging under partial throttle

Hi, this 2002 GL1800 is new to me. While doing some overdue maintenance, I noticed something odd. The bike idles smooth and runs great. However, if I open the throttle just very slightly and hold it, the RPM will surge up and down on its own. I can hear some kind of servo or valve opening and closi...

Re: GL1800 clutch slave

All done. Today I rebuilt the clutch slave with new seals and spring. There was no corrosion but lots of bad fluid. Sediment in the master reservoir as well. After doing so, the clutch is smooth and there is no strange noise anymore. Fixed! I also took the opportunity to flush the coolant and I rep...

Re: GL1800 clutch slave

Interesting placement of a "weep" hole. It is from the transmission cover, not the slave cylinder. What is unknown is what is it there for? You would have to lose a lot of clutch fluid to fill the void where this hole is - it would be a catastrophic failure of the slave cylinder piston cu...

Re: GL1800 clutch slave

Honda is good at using the same parts for its bikes. The 1200/1500/1800 internal clutch slave parts are the same. There is no weep hole on the slave cylinder located as mentioned behind the front lower cowling. The hardest and time consuming issue is getting it out of there. There are two small oil...

Re: GL1800 clutch slave

Once you pull the lower cowl off, you can check it’s weep hole for any fluid leaks. It’s on the right side of the housing looking at it from the front. The noise could simply be the lifter rod oil seal getting hard and dry. If it is then it should be replaced before it pops out of the case and allo...
