Re: 2001 GL1800 that needs a lot of love
Here is a video with a multimeter attached to the fuel pump. Steady reading but Goldwing won't idle. Tested either with IAT and BARO sensor disconnected or with all the sensors connected. Still won't idle. Would like to know what the average turns should the idling set screws be positioned to start...

Maybe, but did you get good voltage readings at the fuel pump connector while it’s running?thebmwmanoficial wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 1:10 am Here 2
First video is with IAC connected
Second video IAC disconnected
May de IAC be the culprit?

Try disconnecting the battery, wait about 10 minutes, reconnect and try it again.

Re: Bet you've never seen this...
I can understand that. What with various subcontractors and other vendors. But when Honda can't even tell which of two parts are bad without resorting to "replace with known good unit" they are falling down on the job. There is no reason they can't check the data going between the boards....

Re: Bet you've never seen this...
I think part of the problem is the fact that Honda doesn’t even have the schematics for the gauges or display in the service manual. They don’t want you to fix it, they just want you to replace the whole thing at their ridiculous price.

Probe the fuel pump power while the engine runs, what does it read? Should be close to the battery voltage. If low, then check C5 for a meltdown of its pins. More info. https://www.gl1800riders.com/threads/ni ... 25.420969/

Okay here ya go. Been riding Goldwings for little over 22 years now. Starting with a 1988 GL1500, then a couple of GL1800's. Currently riding a 2015 Audio Comfort model. Over the past weekend, I rode over to Ruston, and when I headed home, this is what I had showing on the display (he said, hoping ...

I just dug in on a 03 1800 to check the air filter and coolant level to find the map sensor hanging loose on the wire harness. IMG_0796.JPG My question is should this have been attached to one of those open holes on the edge of the cruse module? Or does it belong somewhere else since it is a sensor...

Hey folks, here's a good one for ya. I'm looking for the schematic for the Driver Board the controls the LCD display in the combination meter module. Re: Hole Above Oil Filter
Hello All, First Post. Having an oil leak. Just came out of the shop for a transmission issue that was fixed. 2003 GL1800 ABS with 53,000 miles. My dad and I got it up on the stand where we were preparing to do a front timing chain cover which I was told was the source of the leak by the mechanic w...

Yes, the bad ground that EC is referring to is one that will cause all sorts of issues with the rear lighting. Mostly evident when the brake lights are activated. If you remove the tail light fuse, it will remove this ground as a possibility when the brakes are not activated.
