Re: Questions regarding "older" men and Goldwings

I had a 1000 GL
then the 1100 Interstate

Now a 1985 LTD to which I'm upgrading the Alternator and adding training wheels.
The best one is undoubtedly the LTD.

More power, better balance, a super solid feel and I'm 6' 3" - 235
The other bikes just felt wrong for my size.
Oh - and I'm 70

Re: 1200 training wheels

I looked at those, besides being a touch expensive, they stick out to far, I need to keep the lines original for collector's plates.

Re: 1200 training wheels

When you get time , could I prevail upon you to send me the dimensions for alternator brackets you used for your 85 LTD
I'm hoping to get mine done this winter and need to start assembling parts

Re: GL1200LTD Project

You get rust from moisture, you get moisture when the head gaskets leak, when the head gaskets leak the heads warp.
It can probably be fixed - but much cheaper I suspect to find a good used engine on the net - there's a ton of them out there.

Let me look, I expect 25 bucks and shipping would do it
It would be shipped from Bonners Ferry Id - so probably 10 bucks or less for that

Gotta agree on that one, and the ones that are harder material that poke you in the neck
usually in a decreasing radius exit from a freeway :)
