Re: Shoei Neotec II Helmet - First Impressions
Regarding BJB post about glasses. I suggest you check out the "AO" pilot glasses frames. They have a straight "bayonet" type earpiece and very easy to slip on AFTER you put on your helmet. The frames are around $100.00. That may seem a little pricey, but they are well constructed and I have been thr...

I also purchased some of these. I think I like them a lot. They work WELL with the Jayco FlowPro gauge.

Re: Honda Intercom or Bluetooth, what is better?
I've been riding my '08 Wing since 2011. Greatest motorcycle move I ever made. The cord, hooked up to my Nolan helmet, does not bother me in the least. It has never interfered with my range of motion or become tangled up in anything. I listen to AM/FM radio, satellite radio, Zumo GPS and my CB radio...

Re: New EPA mandate for more Ethanol in 2019
I, too, submitted the form, on 2 of the 3 links. I got the standard/substandard chain response from one of my Senators, but the other sent this: Dear Mr. Jordan: Thank you for contacting me regarding the use of ethanol and renewable fuels as part of our national energy policy. I appreciate having t...

Re: New EPA mandate for more Ethanol in 2019
I just completed the EPA email campaign docs. I am not very confident that it will do any good, but at least I'm trying. Again. Writing to my two senators and my congressman repeatedly over the years regarding the ethanol fiasco has produced zero results. I have long held the opinion that if corn fa...

Roger that, guys. Thanks. I wish other helmet makers would use the Nolan chin strap design. It might lead me to try another helmet.

Re: Pinlock Sun-Reactive Sunshield Review
I think I am missing something. The pinlock shield on my Nolan helmet covers approx half, the lower half of my face shield. Is this new shield larger than the regular pinlocks? Does it go up to the upper half of the face shield?

I bought that half cover a few months ago and I LOVE it! Wish I had done it a long time ago. A lot less hassle going on and off, and saves a little space on the bike.

Re: Dyna Beads vs Counteract Balancing Beads
I use an electric engraving tool to lay against the valve stem to alleviate the "clumping" of the dyna beads. I have never been dissatisfied with the dyna beads, but I may try the counteract beads next tire change. Or not. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Re: RIDING IN THE RAIN.
Regarding full face helmets and wearing glasses; I wear a Nolan Modular helmet (I have no idea how to remove the chin guard, so it's never been off) and I wear glasses. As all glasses wearers know, putting your curved earpiece glasses on after the helmet is on is a real challenge. The solution for m...

Re: Why use the radio speakers
I use speakers only rarely, when I'm going slow on a non congested road and I can flip my face shield up and hear the radio. Otherwise, my Nolan N-Com system works great with my radio, MP3 player, satellite radio, CB radio and Garmn Zumo GPS.

Re: Arai Signet-X Helmet
I'm sure Arai makes good helmets, and I don't have head that is subject the pressure points y'all are discussing. Having said that, I love my Nolan helmet; the chin strap and the fact that Nolan will install the communications equipment for me is worth the price to me.

Re: Seat uncomfortable.
If you ever get a heated seat, you will never go back. That is money well spent, regardless of which seat you eventually end up with. I don't intentionally spend a lot of time in the cold, but heated grips and seats are worth every penny when you get caught in a hail storm in August in Colorado. Tru...

Re: Seat uncomfortable.
I have good news, and I have bad news. OK....I lied about the good news. I went from the factory seat to a WingSoft remake, to an Ultimate, and now to a custom Tom Simmons. The Tom Simmons is the least uncomfortable seat yet. I'm comparing all the Goldwing seats to the seat I had on my '06 Harley Ro...

Re: Questions regarding "older" men and Goldwings
Viking, we will be making our first Dragon ride this coming May while on our way to Rolling Thunder in DC. The twisty's aren't as much fun as they used to be, but I still have to punch holes in the bucket list. I think I would enjoy going to Americade one of these days. If nothing else it will give ...

Re: Questions regarding "older" men and Goldwings
Viking, that was the most articulate account of how we got here as I have ever read. I'll be 73 in couple of months, and though I don't ride as much as I used to, I still enjoy my time in the wind as much as I ever did. I had to trike my Phoebee out a couple of years ago and I don't regret it a bit....

Re: LED Lamps & Flasher for GL1800
I purchased the LED flasher from Electrical Connection and LED tail light package from SoCal. I'll have the flasher installed next month when I get the 24k service done. Since they have to remove the cowling to change the air filter, I figure that will be good time to install the flasher. And my han...

Re: Please tell who or what made you buy a Goldwing
So there I was......in August 2011, loving my '06 Harley Road King (I still miss her sometimes). I stopped in to my local Harley dealer to look around, and there it was.....a 2008 Anniversary Street Glide with 1400 miles on it. Three years old and 1400 miles. It was beeeeeutiful. I wanted it and I c...

Re: To gps or not
Just having the "lane assist" on the GPS is worth the money if you find yourself on a freeway in a strange city. If your destination is keyed in and the device is updated properly, it will tell you which lane you need to get into BEFORE you have to make a snap decision. The only caveat to that scena...

GREAT idea on the tennis balls! Why didn't I think of that? Too soon old, too late smart.tfdeputydawg wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2017 8:03 amUltra Gard full cover.
Also, get a tennis ball(s), slice and place on the hinge(s) of the folded antenna(s). This will prevent you tearing your cover!
