In the 1976 gl1000 parts manual located right here on this site it list 3 different lamps in use on the bikes. The bulbs in use are by Honda area codes. A is US,CM is Canada etc. Each area code has there range of frame and engine serial numbers.So maybe on the outside not enough sales in other count...

Back in the early years I would of said a broken filament in the bulb, but I would go for the headlight connector plug, and a loose burnt connection in the plug.

That is just wonderful and all ready to be on the rode soon. You wouldn't happen to know the torque specs on those reservoir screws, maybe I can make mine last longer too?

According to the honda parts manual under gl1100 manuals on this site on page 169 of the parts manual, looks like 8 different front master cylinders on the std and int that fit. Part number 45500-463-671 which is on 80-81 std and int of the 8 that can be used will fit the 83. Check it out ,plus it s...

This is frequently done and if you are not worried about a little static in you radios you should be good to go. Just realized that you didn't go the dodge neon route on the coils from the salvage,that's a alternate for next time.

Also maybe those handle bars may not able to make a ground. Run a temporary wire from a known ground to the bars for verification.
