Re: Headlight Relays

One of the reasons an electrical relay is such a popular tool for electricians and engineers is that it can control electrical output which is higher than the electrical input it receives, if the ignition or lights were connected directly to the battery, heavy duty insulated wiring would be needed t...

Re: Headlight Relays

You can get an 85/80 watt osram or you can switch over to narva bulbs that start at 100/55 watt and go up to 130/100watt narva but remember the more power the more heat and stress on your electrical system I typically stay with these bulbs for halogen they are high efficancy and are all good manufac...

Re: fuel or electrical?

I had a loose ground wire that did the same thing as your bike is doing, so check for a loose or bad ground wire. I'm still in the bad electrical group.. Check for the color of the spark if it's whitish blue or brite blue..also when you check your stator check it at idle and 3000rpm's....let u...

Re: fuel or electrical?

I would check your stator output, sounds like a electrical problem of some sort to me. Poor spark and low votage....causing the motor to misfire. If it were to be the carbs I would ckeck for an air leak which you have already done, but I still think that you should check for voltage and spark. What ...

Re: Tires for a Goldwing

I've had good luck with the shinko brand of tires on my bikes from supermoto to cruisers..
I think you will find that they are a good bargin for the money spent.

Re: Carb Kits

I would just give the carbs a good cleaning and check the air cutoff valves for any tears. If alls good or the cut off valves are bad you can buy them individually through K&L fairly reasonably. I spent the big money on the Randakks and did need all the extra parts. All I really needed were the cut ...

Re: Coolant Leaking from Head Gasket

It sounds like you bought the aftermarket head gaskets instead of the oem one's?
If they were oem gaskets you must have gotten a #2 gasket.
One thing about doing the job two or three times is you get really good at it.

First you have to find a friendly policeman, sometimes that's hard to find around here.

Re: Exhaust baffles on Gl1100

There's a rivet at the back of the tailpipe that you drill out and then you pull the baffle out. It may take a couple pry bars or it might come right out.
Mine took the pry bar method.

Yep, you need to remove the other baffle. It's sorta a pain in the arse to get out thou.
I removed both of mine but now I wish I would have keep them in there, sounds like crap to me.

When I get enough cash put away I'm going with the motad system.

But after you pepper her car than you stop her to let her know that she just about killed you. It's to bad that the only lesson people understand is taking a hit to the pocket bock. Life doesn't mean much today, but money does. I just don't see what's so important that you put peoples lives at risk ...
